    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polymer having remarkably high thermal stability without necessitating the removal of catalyst after polymerization, by adding a specific hindered amine compound as a polymerization terminator in the polymerization of trioxane, etc., using a boron trifluoride catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Trioxane or a mixture of trioxane and a cyclic ether and/or cyclic acetal is subjected to bulk polymerization in the presence of a catalyst selected from boron trifluoride, hydrated boron trifluoride and a coordination compound of boron trifluoride and an organic compound containing oxygen atom and sulfur atom, preferably at 60-95 deg.C under vigorous agitation. The obtained polymer is preferably pulverized to fine powder as far as possible and made to react with a polymerization terminator consisting of a hindered amine compound of formula I (R is H or 1-30C univalent organic residue; R -R are 1-5C alkyl; R is n-valent organic residue; n>=1) (e.g. the compound of formula II) preferably at 0-100 deg.C to obtain the objective polymer.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled composition having good flexibility and improved mechanical strength, obtained by blending a polyether ester amide with specific amounts of a crosslinkable ethylenic copolymer and a phenolic resin. CONSTITUTION:(A) 50-99pts.wt., preferably 50-95pts.wt. polyether ester amide obtained by polycondensation of a specific polyamide-forming component, a poly(alkylene oxide) glycol having 300-6,000 number-average molecular weight and 4-20C dicarboxylic acid, having 1.2-3.5 relative viscosity, is blended with (B) 1-50pts.wt., preferably 5-50pts.wt. crosslinkable ethylenic copolymer derived from ethylene, an alpha-olefin and a nonconjugated diolefin and (C) 0.1-40wt%, preferably 0.5-30wt% based on the component B of a phenolic resin and kneaded in a molten state.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a thermoplastic resin having both flexibility and mechanical strength comparable with those of vulcanized rubber, by blending a crosslinkable ethylene copolymer and a phenolic resin with a polyether ester amide. CONSTITUTION:A compsn. is obtd. by blending 50-99pts.wt. crosslinkable ethylene copolymer (A) and 0.1-40wt% (based on the quantity of component A) phenolic resin with 1-50pts.wt. polyether ester amide (B). The polyether ester amide (A) is a copolymer obtd. by polycondensation of a polyamide forming component (a) selected from among 6C or higher aminocarboxylic acids or lactams and salts of 6C or higher diamines and dicarboxylic acids, a poly(alkylene oxide) glycol(b) having a humber-average MW of 300-6,000 and a 4-20C dicarboxylic acid(c). The copolymer (A) is a terpolymer derived from ethylene, an alpha-olefin and a non-conjugated diolefin.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for welding, exhibiting high weld strength in addition to excellent characteristic properties of nylon resin such as moldability, heat-resistance and toughness and giving a weld resin article having high weld strength by compounding a nylon resin, a polyolefin resin and glass fiber at specific ratios. SOLUTION: The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a nylon resin with (B) 0.1-50 pts.wt. of a polyolefin resin and (C) 10-150 pts.wt. of glass fiber. Preferably, the composition is produced by melting and kneading 100 pts.wt. of the component A, 0.1-50 pts.wt. of the component B, 10-150 pts.wt. of the component C and (D) 0-3 pts.wt. of a copper compound and (E) 0-5 pts.wt. of a silicone compound or by melting and kneading 100 pts.wt. of the component A with 10-150 pts.wt. of the component C, 0-3 pts.wt. of the component D and 0-5 pts.wt. of the component E and kneading 0.1-50 pts.wt. of the component B to the obtained mixture. The welding is preferably carried out by vibration welding, injection welding, ultrasonic welding, etc.

SOLUTION: The objective copolymer is obtained by making a crude oxymethylene copolymer obtained by copolymerizing trioxan with a cyclic ether pass through a vertical agitation-type film evaporator under processing conditions of a temperature of 190-260 deg.C, a pressure of 0.1-20 torr and an average residence time of 1-10 min. The above processing procedure preferably is performed in the presence of an antioxidant comprising a hindered phenol- based compound, an end-decomposing auxiliary comprising an alkaline substance and a scavenger absorbing formaldehyde.
