Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a mix for an electrode excellent in a charge and discharge characteristic by kneadingly dispersing it by adding an electrode active material and a binding material to a dispersive liquid after manufacturing the dispersive liquid by dispersing a conductive material in a solvent. SOLUTION: In a solvent, either water or an organic solvent is properly selected according to solubility of a binding material to be used. A carbonaceous material is desirable as a conductive material, and carbon black is cited. The conductive material is desirably dispersed in the solvent by media dispersion. To put it concretely, a ball mill, a bead mill and sand mill are cited, and among others, the sand mill is desirable. Polyvinylidene fluoride is cited as the binding material, but an adding time shape into these solvent is desirable to be a liquid shape such as solution and a dispersive liquid (such as dispersion and emulsion). When an electrode active material and the binding material are kneaded and dispersed in the dispersive liquid, an ordinary kneader, a disperser, for example, a ribbon type mixer can be used.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the safety by forming a solvent for non-aqueous electrolyte from fluoro-carbonate and chain carbonate as major components, and arranging so that their proportion by volume lies within the specific range. SOLUTION: A solvent for a non-aqueous electrolyte is prepared by mixing fluoro-carbonate with chain carbonate in a specific mix proportion by volume. The fluoro-carbonate should have such a structure that part or all of the hydrogen atoms of a chain or cyclic carbonate having carbonate group (-OCOO-) are substituted with fluorine atoms. For example, the chain fluoro-carbonate should have such a structure as expressed by the given equation, where R1 and R2 are alkyl group, provided that at least either of them is alkyl group in which part or all of the hydrogen atoms are substituted with fluorine atoms. The mix proportion by volume (fluoro-carbonate vs. chain carbonate) should range from 5:95 to 90:10. This allows enhancement of the safety against a destructive test for the battery.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery with almost no drop in battery capacity and low generation ratio of internal shoft-circuiting in production and use of the battery by covering a lead connected to a positive current collector and/or a negative current collector with a folded current collector. SOLUTION: As the electrolyte of a battery, the ordinary electrolyte can be used without specifically limiting. A lead 1 connected to a positive current connector and/or a negative current collector is necessary to be covered with a folded current collector 2. The connecting method of the lead 1 to the positive current collector and/or the negative current collector is not specifically limited, and the usual method can be applicable. The distance from the positive current collector and/or the end part of a negative material coating part 3 is preferable to be less than 30mm. If the distance exceeds 30mm, the filling amount of an electrode is reduced, resulting in decrease in battery capacity. The number of folding of the current collector for covering the lead 1 is not specifically limited, but folding less than 10 times is preferable.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery having a high filling factor, a high capacity, a good cycle characteristic, and high safety by changing the thickness of the current collector of at least one of a positive electrode sheet and a negative electrode sheet in the direction of the sheet length. SOLUTION: A current collector changed in thickness in the direction of the sheet length is used, and the thickness of the current collector at the thickest portion is 1.5-3 times the thickness at the thinnest portion. The resistance and heat generated by the current collector can be minimized. As the method for changing the thickness of the current collector, rolling is applied at the ordinary temperature or in the heated state, and the thickness of the current collector is preferably controlled by its strength.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To uniformly coat a paint to a base material at a uniform film thickness by forming a die of a coating device into a floating type for which a balance weight is used and maintaining a specified spacing between the die and the base material by a spacing holding means. CONSTITUTION:The die 4 of the device for coating the paint on the sheet-shaped base material on a conveying roller is made of the floating type die 4 for which the balance weight 10 is used. The spacing holding means 11 for maintaining the specified spacing between the surface of the base material 1 and a slit- shaped discharge port 3 by contacting the surface of the material 1 is provided on both sides of the surface of the die 4 on the port 3 side in the transverse direction of the material 1. The die can be moved with light force and the position of the die follows up the uneven thickness which exists in the base material if the weights of the die and the balance weight are balanced in the above-mentioned manner. The coating to a uniform thickness is thus continuously executed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To continuously and easily form the titled uniform and thin gas separation membrane by forming a substrate layer consisting of an air-permeable polymer on the surface of a water-impregnated supporting membrane, and then forming the film membrane of a gas separation membrane forming material. CONSTITUTION:A polysulfone porous membrane 4, etc., are laminated on the porous layer 3 of polyester nonwoven fabric, etc., by a wet membrane forming method. The water droplets 5 on the front and rear surfaces of the membrane 1 are removed, and then a soln. 11 consisting essentially of an air-permeable polymer is coated. The inside of the membrane 1 is filled with water, and the infiltration of the soln. 11 can be prevented. the material is instantaneously dried in an oven to vaporize and remove the water in the membrane 1, and the substrate layer 18 is formed. The substrate layer of double structure can also be formed. Then the org. solvent soln. 25 consisting essentially of the gas separation membrane forming material is coated. The material is instantaneously dried in an oven to form the gas separation layer 27 of a thin membrane. The layer of double structure can also be formed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a composite membrane prevented from the delamination of a membrane layer and excellent in gas separation capacity and gas permeability, by interposing an extremely thin membrane crosslinked by a tetrafunctional or more silane or silaxane crosslinking agent between a porous support and an extremely thin membrane. CONSTITUTION:A tetrafunctional or more silane or siloxane crosslinking agent, for example, tetraacetoxysilane or ethyl polysilicate, polyorganosiloxane and a catalyst are dissolved in a non-aqueous solvent. The resulting solution is thinly and uniformly applied to a porous support and dried by hot air to form a composite membrane. Next, a solution, which is prepared by dissolving a polymer having a high gas separation property such as poly(4-methylpentene-1) in cyclohexane, is develoved on a water surface to form a membrane which is, in turn, supported by the surface of the membrane of the pre-fabricated polyorganosiloxane composite membrane to obtain a gas separating composite membrane.
