    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the title copolymer easily moldable, excellent in mechanical properties such as rigidity and tensile strength, transparency and surface properties and capable of being processed at an increased molding speed. CONSTITUTION:The copolymer comprising a polypropylene component being insoluble in p-xylene at room temperature and having a melt flow index of 30 or above, an Mw/Mn ratio of 8 or greater, a melting point of 165 deg.C or above, a crystallization temperature of 117 deg.C or above and a crystalline melting heat of 107mJ/mg or above and a propylene/alpha-olefin copolymer component being soluble in p-xylene at room temperature and having an intrinsic viscosity of 5 or above and having a melt flow index of 10 or above is provided.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably obtain an ethylenic copolymer excellent in flowability, handleability, etc., by copolymerizing ethylene and an alpha-olefin in the presence of a catalyst comprising a specific solid catalyst component and an organic Al compound component. CONSTITUTION:A porous inorganic oxide (b) is impregnated with a Grignard compound (c) represented by formula I (wherein R is a 1-8C alkyl and X is a halogen). A product of the reaction of an aluminum halide with an organosilicon compound (d) represented by formula II (wherein R is a 1-8C alkyl or phenyl, R is a 1-8C alkyl, and m is 0 or 1-3) is added to the resulting oxide (b), and the reactants are allowed to react to produce a support (h). This support (h) is brought into contact with a titanium compound (e) represented by formula III (wherein R is a 1-8C alkyl or phenyl, X is a halogen, and n is 0 or 1-4) to produce a solid catalyst component (i). Ethylene is copolymerized with an alpha-olefin (e.g. propylene) in the presence of a catalyst obtained from this solid catalyst component (i) and an organoaluminum compound component (g), thereby giving an ethylene copolymer.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain atactic polypropylene in high yields per unit catalyst used in the polymerization reaction, by polymerizing propylene in the presence of a catalyst obtained from a specified solid catalyst component and an organoaluminum compound. CONSTITUTION:A reaction product between an aluminum halide and a silicon compound of formula I (wherein R and R' are each a hydrocarbon group) is reacted with a Grignard compound of formula II (wherein R is a 1-10C alkyl and X is a halogen). A solid reaction product obtained by reacting the above obtained support with a titanium compound of formula III (wherein R is a 1-10C alkyl or phenyl) is reacted with a compound of formula IV (wherein R is a 1-10C alkyl and X is a halogen).
