Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-permeable material formed of a polyamide having an amid group in a molecular chain with nearly the same degree of ratio as that in nylon 6 or nylon 66. SOLUTION: The gas-permeable material comprises a polyamide wherein the polyamide consisting of 50-100 wt.% of dicarboxylic acid component being dicarboxylic acid component consisting of 1,6-decanedicarboxylic acid and 0-50 wt.% of diamine component and a total amount being aliphatic aminocarboxylic acid component and/or lactam component has an amid group with nearly the same degree of ratio as that in nylon 6 or nylon 66.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a process for producing a polyamide which has m- xylylenediamine units as essential units, does not gel nor yellow, and has a homogeneous quality and a good film-forming properties by using specific components. SOLUTION: An oligomer having a number average mol.wt. of 1,500 or higher and comprising 25-50mol% m-xylylenediamine units, 25-50mol% units derived from an arom. dicarboxylic acid represented by the formula: HOOC-Ar-COOH (wherein Ar is a 6-14C arom. hydrocarbon group), and 0-50mol% 4-12C aliph. ω-aminocarboxylic acid units is produced by the prepolymn. at 210 deg.C or lower. The oligomer is subjected to melt polymn. at a temp. at least 10 deg.C higher than the m.p. of the polymer obtd. from the oligomer but not higher than 280 deg.C and/or is subjected to solid phase polymn. at a temp. not lower than the glass transition point of the polymer but at least 10 deg.C lower than the m.p.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a crystalline copolyamide which is tough and excellent in dimensional stability etc., by producing a copolyamide consisting of ε- capronamide units, ε-carboxamide units and hexamethyleneterephthalamide units at a specified molar ratio. CONSTITUTION: This copolyamide consists of ε-capronamide units (A), ε- carboxamide units (B) of the formula (wherein n is 10 or 11) and hexamethyleneterephthalamide units (C), wherein the proportions of these units are adjusted so as to provide a composition represented by any point within the circumference defined by the points (57,3,40), (32,27,40), (25,27,48) and (25,3,72) on a triangular diagram (A,B,C) showing the proportions (mol%) to thereby produce a crystalline copolyamide. The obtained resin gives a molding having high deflection temperature under load and high rigidity and excellent in tensile strength, impact strength, etc.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a hydrophilic porous membrane having uniform micropores and suitably usable in a field requiring hydrophilicity by coating the surface of a hydrophobic high-molecular microporous film having a large number of micropores with specific water-insoluble modified nylon. CONSTITUTION:In a hydrophilic porous membrane, the surface of a hydrophobic high-molecular porous membrane having a large number of micropores is coated with modified nylon selected from among water-soluble N-methyl, N- alkoxymethyl and N-alkylthiomethyl modified nylons. This porous membrane is produced by a method where a soln. prepared by dissolving modified nylon in a specific solvent is brought into contact with the hydrophobic high-molecular porous membrane for a predetermined time at predetermine temp. and the treated membrane is subjected to drying treatment and/or the contact with water and dying treatment continuing thereto to perfectly remove the solvent and the microporous surface of the hydrophobic membrane is uniformly coated with modified nylon.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a porous film to be used for separation of water-base soln., medical materials, electrolysis, electric cell, etc., by coating the surface of a polymer porous film having small penetrating holes with water-insoluble nylon. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a polymer porous film such as polyethylene having fine holes is coated with water insoluble nylon (e.g. nylon 4). The obtd. porous film is a hydrophilic film to which water can be easily permeates to the small penetrating holes by only bringing the film into contact with water. Moreover, after the water permeating through the holes is removed and the film is dried, water can easily permeates again when the film is brought in contact with water again. This hydrophilic property is stable for a long time. Thereby, the film is preferably used for separation of water-base soln., medical materials, electrolysis, electric cell, etc.
