PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new type grazing unit. SOLUTION: The grazing unit comprises first and second rigid substrates (S1, S2), a third rigid, semi-rigid or flexible substrate (S3) and at least one layer; and continuously contains at least one activation system (A) placed between the substrates (S1 and S2) or (S2 and S3), and at least one polymer film having a function of retaining splinters at breakage of the grazing, being arranged between the substrates (S1) and (S2) and/or between the substrate (S2) and (S3), and/or forming a part of the substrate (S3). Abstract:
The invention relates to an arrangement for sealing an opening of a vehicle, provided with a screen (12), whereby a layer (14) of adhesive material is applied to the screen as a planar chipping protector element and the other side of the layer of adhesive material serves to glue at least one accessory (18, 20, 30, 32, 34) to the screen. The accessory is a reinforcement element (18) for the screen, a retainer element (30, 32, 34), for connecting the screen to the vehicle chassis, or an element (38), connected to the vehicle chassis, or a shade.

This invention comprises a glazing element having a transparent laminate secured to a structural support, and a process for preparing the same. The laminate comprises at least one layer of glass having self-adhered directly to the layer of glass a layer of thermoplastic polymer having low haze, wherein the layer of thermoplastic polymer is attached to the structural support along the edges of the laminate.

Structural element with composite transparent structure and improved safety characteristics, comprising at least one sheet-like portion (2, 15, 18) having, adhering to at least one section of its peripheral edge (4), particularly intended to withstand tensile stresses, at least one strip-like portion (3) so as to increase the flexural rigidity thereof and/or the toughness of the sheet-like portion. The transparent sheet-like portion (2, 15, 18) is a multilayer element consisting of several elements of transparent material such as glass and/or polymer. The transparent polymer is polycarbonate, polyurethane, polyvinyl chloride or mixtures thereof or copolymers thereof. The strip-like portion (3) adheres integrally to the edge (4) of the multilayer element subject to tensile stress and comprises one or more layers (8, 8') integral with each other. The multilayer portion comprises several transparent sheet-like elements (5, 5', 5'', 16, 16', 16'', 19, 19', 19'') between which a first layer of adhesive material (6, 6', 6'') such as polyvinyl butyral, polyurethane or a layer of intumescent material is arranged.

Disclosed is a laminated safety glass windowpane with a set rupture point (8), consisting of at least two tempered glass panes (3,4) and a polymer intermediate layer (5). The polymer intermediate layer (5) is comprised of two plastic materials having a differing resistance to tear, a differing elongation at tear and a differing resistance to tear propagation. The plastic with the lowest resistance to tear, the lowest elongation at tear and the lowest resistance to tear propagation is provided in the rupture point of the laminated glass pane and the plastic with the highest resistance to tear, the highest elongation at tear and the highest resistance to tear is provided in the area which does not represent the set rupture point. The laminated glass pane is provided with one or more bodies (15) made of a material which is harder than the glass used (3, 4) in at least one point (impact point).

Ce vitrage en verre feuilleté blindé, pare-balles et/ou anti-éclats est constitué par un empilement dont une partie s'étend, sur au moins une partie de la périphérie du vitrage, au-delà du reste dudit empilement, formant ainsi une excroissance contre, laquelle est appliquée, du côté intérieur si l'on considère que l'impact est susceptible de se produire du côté extérieur, une ceinture de blindage (C) en matériau à haute résistance balistique, rendue solidaire du vitrage. Il est ainsi constitué un système balistique périphérique (BP), formé par l'excroissance et la ceinture (C), système par lequel le vitrage est monté dans la feuillure de la structure destinée à porter le vitrage; le reste du vitrage constituant alors un système balistique central (BC). Selon l'invention, le système (BC) comporte, dans sa région périphérique correspondant à celle de la ceinture (C) du système (BP), une ou plusieurs couches de renfort de blindage (1 f ) en matériau à haute résistance balistique, s'intégrant dans l'empilement constituant le vitrage, l'unique couche de renfort de blindage ou au moins l'une des couches de renfort de blindage étant solidaire d'avec ladite ceinture (C).

A laminated bullet resistant glazing (10) comprises a plurality of glass and plastic plies (12, 14, 16) arranged in at least two layers including an outer layer and an inner layer. The outer layer extends beyond the inner layer so as to form a step (18) which extends around at least part of the periphery of the glazing (10). The glazing (10) is reinforced with a band (20) positioned at least partially on the step (18) and having at least first and second longitudinal faces, and in position the first longitudinal face is in contact with the step and the second longitudinal face is in contact with an adjacent portion of the glazing (10). Application of the band (20) to the step enhances the support strength of the outer layer and enables the manufacture of a bullet resistant glazing having an outer layer reduced in thickness compared to prior bullet resistant glazings.
Abstract:
A wired glass having a wire mesh formed of wires coloured to have a different visual appearance to metallic wires employed in conventional wired glass. Preferably the wire mesh has an applied decorative coating of different colour to the colour of the cores of the metallic wires forming the wire mesh. The decorative coating suitably provides the wired glass with an attractive visual appearance.
