Abstract:
Telescopic suspension device (10) attached to the hub (422) of a wheel (424) of the type comprising a first tube (12), a second tube (14) sliding with respect to the first tube and a main spring (34) arranged inside said tubes, and additionally comprising a plug (18) for adjusting the prestress of the main spring (34) installed at the upper end (16) of said first tube. The suspension device comprises a system (39) for identifying the prestress of the spring, representative of the weight of the user, associated with the plug (18).
Abstract:
A front wheel supporting structure for a vehicle comprises a front arm (10) for supporting a front axle (6) and a suspension mechanism (12) for resiliently suppressing vertical swinging motion of the front arm (10). The suspension mechanism includes a damper member (33) disposed along a lateral direction between a head pipe (1) and the front arm (10), and a connecting member (32, 34) for connecting the front arm (10) with the damper member (33) such that vertical swinging motion of the front arm (10) is converted into lateral motion of the damper member (33).
Abstract:
A coil spring suspension (12) designed for a handlebar-steered vehicle. The coil spring suspension generally includes a first tube (22), a coil spring (34), a shaft (36) and a guide (38). A first end of the coil spring (34) is disposed within the first tube (22) and fixedly supported proximate a first end of the first tube (22). The coil spring (34) extends beyond a second end of the first tube (22). The shaft (36) fixedly supports a second end of the coil spring (34). The shaft (36) and the first tube (22) are slidably displaced relative to each other upon suspension loading to lengthwise compress the coil spring (34). The guide (38) is disposed within the first tube (22) and connected to the coil spring (34) between the first and second ends of the coil spring (34). The guide (38) is displaced with the coil spring (34) under suspension loading and limiting lateral displacement of the coil spring (34).
Abstract:
Abstract:
A suspension system (12) disposed in a bicycle fork (10). The suspension system includes inner and outer tubes (14,16), first and second bushings (20,22), a steering mechanism (24) and a shock-absorbing mechanism (18). The first and second bushings (20,22) are disposed between the inner and outer tubes to facilitate the sliding of the inner tube (14) within the outer tube (16). The steering mechanism (24) prevents relative rotation between the inner and outer tubes (14,16) and is disposed between the first and second bushings (20,22). With this configuration, the ratio of the bushing length to the inner tube diameter is greater than 4, resulting in the suspension fork handling most lateral loads without binding.
