Abstract:
Elevator arrangement, which comprises a plurality of elevators in a building, which, plurality comprises a plurality of zoned elevators (Z) moving in an elevator hoistway (S), which have different ranges of movement of the elevator car in the building to each other, and which zoned elevators (Z) each have a top limit and a bottom limit of the range of movement of the elevator car, to above the top limit and to below the bottom limit of which range of movement travel of the elevator car of the zoned elevator (Z) in question is prevented. The vertical location, in relation to the building, of the top limit and/or bottom limit of the range of movement of the elevator car of each aforementioned zoned elevator (z) can be changed. The arrangement also comprises a lobby elevator (L), the range of movement of the elevator car of which differs from the ranges of movement of the elevator cars of the aforementioned zoned elevators (Z), and the stopping floors of the lobby elevator (L) comprise a plurality of lobby floors (LF), each of which is a stopping floor of one or more zoned elevators (Z) belonging to the aforementioned zoned elevator plurality. The object of the invention is also a method for re-adjusting the elevator arrangement, wherein the range of movement of the elevator car of the zoned elevator (Z) in question is changed to reach to a different height in the elevator hoistway (S) by changing the vertical location in relation to the building of the top limit and/or the bottom limit of the range of movement of the elevator car of the zoned elevator (Z) in question.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the processing of call inputs of a user by an elevator controller of an elevator installation in which a user inputs either an external call and an internal call or a destination call into the elevator controller, wherein the elevator controller generates at least two sub-calls in reaction to the internal call or the destination call, wherein the sub-calls comprise at least one external call and/or at least one internal call whose destination floor is different from the destination floor of the internal call input by the user. The invention furthermore relates to a method in which an elevator controller generates a destination call or an internal call in reaction to an external call. The invention furthermore relates to corresponding elevator installations designed for carrying out these methods.
Abstract:
An elevator system comprises at least two independently operable elevator cars in each of a plurality of elevator shafts within a building. The elevator system can include at least one first elevator shaft having a first and a second region, with the first region extending from a ground level to sub-ground levels, and with the second region extending from the ground level to a top floor. A first elevator car may move within the first region and a second elevator car may move within the second region, in the same shaft independently of each other.
Abstract:
The invention relates to elevator systems, in which a number of elevators operate in the same hoistway. The elevator system comprises at least one shuttle elevator and at least two local elevators, the elevator-cars of which are arranged to travel in the same elevator hoistway such that they can serve at least one shared transfer floor of a transfer level. The control system of the elevator system receives destination calls given from a destination call appliance, forms a plurality of route alternatives and allocates a destination call to one or more elevators by selecting the best route alternative. When allocating a destination call, the control system takes into account that the elevator cars of the local elevators that travel in the same elevator hoistway cannot simultaneously be at a shared transfer floor in cases in which the route alternative comprises a part-trip with a local elevator and a change of elevator at a shared transfer floor.
Abstract:
An elevator operation system and apparatus reduce the round trip time of an elevator, by determining a target floor that corresponds to the destination floor requested by a passenger; and assigning the target floor to one of a plurality of elevators for service exclusively to the target floor.
Abstract:
A plurality of express shuttle elevators S1-S4 exchange elevator cabs at a transfer floor 26 with local elevators L1-L10 by means of a carriage 107, the casters of which 93 are guided by tracks 70-83. The transfer floor has linear induction motor (LIM) primary segments 60-67 disposed on the transfer floor; the carriage has a LIM secondary 128 thereon for propulsion. The carriages can be locked 91, 92 to the transfer floor for loading, and cabs can be locked 131 onto the carriages for stability when being moved. A controller (FIGS. 10-13) keeps track of the progress of the cabs from one elevator to another.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to assigning an elevator car in response to a hall call, based on a series of bonuses and penalties and remaining response time, defined herein as an estimation of the amount of time required for an elevator car to reach the floor at which the hall call is registered, given the car calls and hall calls to which the elevator car is committed. Upon the registration of a hall call, a relative system response (RSR) value for each elevator car is determined based on a series of bonuses and penalties. Additionally, a remaining response time (RRT) value for each car is determined. The RRT value of the elevator car having the most favorable RSR value is compared with the RRT value of the elevator car having the lowest RRT value. Based on this comparison, one of the two elevator cars will be assigned to service the hall call. The present invention preferably assigns the hall call to the elevator car which has the lowest RSR value, except where there exists another car which could reach the floor registering the hall call at least a predetermined amount of time before the car having the most favorable RSR value.
