In the method according to the invention in the manufacture of an elevator the following procedures are performed, -a movable supporting platform (4) and an elevator car (2), and possibly a counterweight (CW), are installed in the elevator hoistway (1), -the rope installation is performed, in which the elevator is reeved to comprise construction-time hoisting roping (3,3'), and the hoisting roping (3,3') is arranged to support the elevator car (2) resting on the supporting platform (4) supported in its position above the elevator car (2), -the elevator car (2) is taken into use to serve passengers and/or to transport goods, -the elevator car (2) is removed from the aforementioned use, - the service range of the elevator car is changed to reach higher up in the elevator hoistway (1) by lifting the supporting platform higher up in the elevator hoistway with hoisting means (22,30), -the elevator car (2) is taken back into the aforementioned use. In the aforementioned rope installation the elevator is reeved to comprise construction-time hoisting roping (3,3')/ which comprises one or more ropes, the longitudinal power transmission capacity of which is based at least essentially on non-metallic fibers in the longitudinal direction of the rope. In the method guide rails (G) to be fixed with guide rail brackets (b) can additionally be installed by the aid of installation means (8,9). The invention also relates to an elevator arrangement, with which the aforementioned method can be performed.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Rolltreppe oder Rollsteig, mit zwei Laufrichtungen, welche(r) ein Stufen- oder Palettenband aufweist, das in zwei einander abgewandten Umlenkbereichen umgelenkt ist, mit einer Einrichtung zur Überwachung des Vorhandenseins von Stufen (4) oder Paletten (4') des Stufen- oder Palettenbandes, welche Einrichtung mindestens einen ersten Detektor (7, 7') aufweist, der für eine Detektierungsfunktion in der ersten Laufrichtung vorgesehen ist, und mindestens einen zweiten Detektor (7', 7''), der für die gleiche Detektierungsfunktion in der zweiten Laufrichtung vorgesehen ist, wobei der ersten und zweite Detektor (7,7') in Wirkverbindung mit einer Auswerte- und Steuerelektronik (11) stehen, die bei Feststellen von fehlenden Stufen (4) oder Paletten (4') innerhalb des Stufen- (5) oder Palettenbandes (5') den Antrieb der Rolltreppe oder des Rollsteiges stillsetzt, wobei die Auswerte- und Steuerelektronik die Signale des ersten und zweiten Detektors (7, 7') mit der identischen Detektierungsfunktion für die unterschiedlichen Laufrichtungen miteinander vergleicht, um daraus ein Signal zum Stillsetzen der der Rolltreppe/des Rollsteiges abzuleiten. Diese Erfindung ermöglicht mit nur zwei Detektoren die redundante Überwachung einer Fehlstufenfunktion für beide Laufrichtungen.

A passenger conveyor is disclosed, which comprises an endless conveyor track (2), a power means for moving the conveyor track, an entrance (A) allowing passage to the conveyor track (2), an exit (B) allowing passage away from the conveyor track (2), a balustrade (3) beside the conveyor track (2), and a guide element (4,4 ', 4") or guide elements (4,4 ', 4") which is/are at the entrance (A) and/or at the exit (B) on the floor at proximity of the end of the balustrade (3), forming an elongated lateral guide for an object rolling on the floor to/from the conveyor track, so as to guide the rolling object to/from the conveyor without contacting the balustrade (3); one or more of the guide elements (4,4 ', 4") comprises a source of electromagetic radiation (5,5 ' ), which is adapted to output electromagmetic radiation to the entrance/exit zone of the passenger conveyor. The passenger conveyor can provide plural of escalator functions simultaneously with a simple overall construction.

Elevator arrangement, which comprises a plurality of elevators in a building, which, plurality comprises a plurality of zoned elevators (Z) moving in an elevator hoistway (S), which have different ranges of movement of the elevator car in the building to each other, and which zoned elevators (Z) each have a top limit and a bottom limit of the range of movement of the elevator car, to above the top limit and to below the bottom limit of which range of movement travel of the elevator car of the zoned elevator (Z) in question is prevented. The vertical location, in relation to the building, of the top limit and/or bottom limit of the range of movement of the elevator car of each aforementioned zoned elevator (z) can be changed. The arrangement also comprises a lobby elevator (L), the range of movement of the elevator car of which differs from the ranges of movement of the elevator cars of the aforementioned zoned elevators (Z), and the stopping floors of the lobby elevator (L) comprise a plurality of lobby floors (LF), each of which is a stopping floor of one or more zoned elevators (Z) belonging to the aforementioned zoned elevator plurality. The object of the invention is also a method for re-adjusting the elevator arrangement, wherein the range of movement of the elevator car of the zoned elevator (Z) in question is changed to reach to a different height in the elevator hoistway (S) by changing the vertical location in relation to the building of the top limit and/or the bottom limit of the range of movement of the elevator car of the zoned elevator (Z) in question.

The invention relates to an elevator system, which comprises anelongated suspension member (1A, IB), a load-receiving part (2) suspended on the suspension member (1A, IB), a counterweight (3) suspended on the suspension member (1A, IB) for supporting the load-receiving part (2), an elongated traction member (4A, 4B) for exerting a pulling force on the load-receiving part (2) and on the counterweight (3), a drive unit (5), with which the load-receiving part (2) is driven by pulling the aforementioned traction member (4 A, 4B) and also one or more guide rails (6), along the path of movement determined by which the load-receiving part (2) is moved. The aforementioned drive unit (5) is disposed to the side of the path of movement of the aforementioned load-receiving part (2).

In the method according to the invention in the manufacture of an elevator a partially completed elevator is used during the manufacture of the elevator, which elevator comprises a platform (2) that is in the elevator hoistway (1) during the manufacture of the elevator for supporting the elevator car (3) via hoisting roping (4), and hoisting roping (4) supported by the aforementioned platform (2) and hanging in the elevator hoistway (1), in which method a lift is performed, in which the aforementioned platform is lifted to extend the operating area of the elevator car (3) below the aforementioned platform (2) to reach to higher in the elevator hoistway (1). During the lifting of the hoisting roping (4), the downward-pulling force exerted on the platform (2) is reduced by transferring a part of the roping (4) supported by the platform (2) to be supported by a bracket (c) that is separate from the platform (2) for at least the duration of the lifting of the platform (2).
