Abstract: An extension spring overhead door system (10) in which the spring (22) may be quickly and easily placed in tension with the door (21) in a closed position. A spring tensioning device (30, 140) is provided which eliminates the need for multiple installers to lift the full weight of the door (21) and then clamp or otherwise prop the door (21) in an open position. An extension spring containment tube (84) is also provided which surrounds the entire periphery of the spring (22) to fully contain the entire length of the extension spring (22). A second embodiment of the spring tensioning device (140) allows mounting of device (140) on either side of the door (21) while retaining easy access.

Abstract: Provided is a lid device which is compact, and can be installed in an efficient manner. The lid device (20) releasably locks a lid provided with a hinge (12) in a closed position. The lid device is provided with a push lifter that alternates between an extended state and a retracted state each time the lid is pushed, a motor (54) placed next to the push lifter, a lock member (18) and a transmission mechanism (60, 64) for transmitting the output of the motor. The push lifter and the motor are arranged such that a lengthwise direction of the push lifter and a lengthwise direction of the motor are perpendicular to each other, and such that the motor at least partly overlaps with the push lifter when seen from the lengthwise direction of the motor.

Abstract: Universal rotary actuators (URAs) and door assemblies having the URAs are disclosed. In some embodiments, the URA includes a motor, a worm gear driven by the motor, a worm wheel having teeth that mesh with threads of the worm gear, a pinion gear attached to the worm wheel, drive gear rotatably connected to the pinion gear, an output shaft attached to the drive gear, and a controller assembly disposed between the drive gear and the motor, the controller selectively controlling direction and speed of the motor. In some embodiments, the URA additionally includes a quick release assembly that moves the pinion gear between an engaged position in which the pinion gear is rotatably connected to the drive gear and a disengaged position in which the pinion gear is not rotatably connected to the drive gear.
