Abstract:
Abstract:
A keyboard includes a resilient foam layer (28) having an array of holes (30) therein with the layer (28) being sandwiched between a flexible sheet having dome-shaped areas (34) aligned with said holes and a dielectric member (38), the flexible sheet and dielectric member having electrodes (36, 40) thereon which are arranged to complete a circuit associated with a hole (30) when the flexible sheet and member are moved toward each other. A snap action of the dome-shaped areas (34) in the switch movement provides for improved tactile response and switch travel and reduced switch actuating force. Additional foam layers enhance the operating characteristics of the embodiments. A method of production of the keyboard entails determining the operating parameters of a desired keyboard and selecting the relative density and thicknesses of various resilient layers and flexible sheets in the keyboard to determine the switch actuating force, the extent of travel of the switch, and the location of the "makepoint" of the switch at a position between the start and end of switch travel.
Abstract:
A device for switching a direct current in a pole of a direct current network includes two connecting terminals to be connected in series with the pole, an operating current path extending between the connecting terminals, at least one mechanical switch in the operating current path, a disconnection branch including a power switching unit for shutting down high short-circuit currents having power semiconductor switches that can be switched on and off, and a commutation device for commutating a current from the operating current path to the disconnection branch. In order to provide such a device which is economical, generates fewer losses and at the same time is able to switch high short-circuit currents quickly, the commutation device is provided with at least one inductive component.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a direct current relay, and more particularly, to a direct current relay capable of reducing an electronic repulsive force generated between a fixed contact and a movable contact by a permanent magnet installed to extinguish an arc. The direct current relay includes: a frame; first and second fixed contacts spaced from each other with a predetermined distance there between; first and second magnetic substances formed to enclose a lower part of the first and second fixed contacts; a movable contact movable to contact or to be separated from the first and second fixed contacts, having a first movable contact contactable to the first fixed contact, and having a second movable contact contactable to the second fixed contact; and a pair of permanent magnets installed on long sides of the frame.
Abstract:
Provided is a contact device in which all of three movable contacts can be securely brought into contact with fixed contacts. The contact device includes a fixed terminal 37 that has a fixed contact 35, a movable terminal 28 that moves toward and away from the fixed terminal 37 and has three movable contacts 31a, 31b, and 31c that are brought into contact with the fixed contact 35, and a pressing spring 33 that presses the movable terminal 28 and brings the movable contacts 31a, 31b, and 31c into contact with the fixed contacts 35 at a predetermined pressing force. The point of application of the pressing spring 33 is located in a triangle formed by internal tangents of the three movable contacts.
Abstract:
Device for making and/or breaking a current including a pair of permanent contacts (3, 4), at least one of the contacts (3, 4) being movable. At least one permanent contact (3, 4) including a main portion (3.1, 4.1) having a free end and an end protection portion (3.2, 4.2) secured to the free end of the main portion (3.1, 4.1), designed to be in mechanical and electrical contact with the other permanent contact (4, 3) only during an operation for opening or closing the pair. The end protection portion (3.2, 4.2) is made of a single transition metal having a melting temperature that is strictly higher than that of the main portion (3.1, 4.1) to which it is secured, or of an oxide or carbide of such a metal, or even of zinc oxide. For application in particular to high- or medium-voltage circuit breakers.
Abstract:
A micromechanical switch comprises a substrate, at least one pair of support members fixed to the substrate, at least one pair of beam members placed in proximity and parallel to each other above the substrate, and connected to one of the support members, respectively, each of the beam members having a moving portion which is movable with a gap with respect to the substrate, and a contact portion provided on the moving portion, and a driving electrode placed on the substrate between the pair of beam members to attract the moving portions of the beam members in a direction parallel to the substrate with electrostatic force so that the contact portions of the beam members which are opposed to each other are short-circuited.
Abstract:
In a membrane-type touch panel including a pair of circuit layers having facing conductive circuit patterns normally separated by spacers defining voids through which regions of the circuit patterns can move to effect actuation, a series of projections are provided which, upon actuation, are adapted to act inwardly upon the outer surface of at least one of the two circuit layers at regions aligned with corresponding voids to reduce the required actuation force or to allow a reduction in the size of the spacer voids to reduce the possibility of false actuations.
Abstract:
The diaphragm keyboard comprises a baseboard from the bottom of which pins (11) project in vertical direction. These pins (11) pass through apertures (22) in an encoding plate (20) and extend beyond the surface thereof, thus presenting spacers for a diaphragm (30). In addition, they serve for retaining and aligning the encoding plate (20).
