Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided whereby pumpable viscous fibrous material may be applied onto surfaces of high temperature process vessels while hot (i.e., while at or near such vessels' high operational temperatures of several hundreds up to several thousands of degrees Fahrenheit). More specifically, there are preferably provided a lance having a nozzle structure at a distal end thereof, and a pump system for pumping a pumpable fibrous refractory material to the nozzle. The lance has a length sufficient to allow it to be inserted into the high temperature process vessel so that the nozzle structure is adjacent an area in need of repair while an operator holds a proximal end thereof outside the vessel. In use, the lance is inserted into the process vessel while the process vessel is at or near its high operational temperature so that the nozzle structure is positioned adjacent to an area of the process vessel wall in need of repair, and so that the lance may be manipulated from outside the process vessel during repair of the wall thereof. Manipulating the lance from outside the process vessel will thereby cause the atomized spray of the fibrous material to contact the wall of the process vessel thereby repairing the same.
Abstract:
An apparatus for performing operations on a surface of an electronic substrate, the apparatus comprising a frame, a dispenser coupled to the frame to dispense material onto the electronic substrate, a stencil coupled to the frame having at least one aperture to receive the material to be deposited through the aperture onto the surface of the electronic substrate, a controller that controls dispensing of materials on substrates, and a cleaning system coupled to the frame and coupled to the controller for removing material from the stencil, wherein the cleaning system uses carbon dioxide particles for removing the residue from the stencil.
Abstract:
An apparatus for dispensing fluid includes a base member having a feed channel and a slot nozzle having first and second spaced apart members. A slot-shaped outlet channel is in fluid communication with the feed channel and is defined between the first and second spaced apart members. A slot-shaped outlet opening is in fluid communication with the slot-shaped outlet channel and has a width defined between the first and second spaced apart members. A valve is coupled with the base member and selectively interrupts and releases the flow of fluid through the slot-shaped outlet opening. An adjustment device infinitely adjusts the position of the first member relative to the position of the second member to change the width of the slot-shaped outlet opening. A method for dispensing fluid onto a substrate includes directing the fluid through the slot-shaped outlet channel while continuously increasing the pressure of the fluid.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for applying a liner to a pipe is disclosed. The apparatus includes a base assembly having a plurality of guide rails and a shuttle plate attached thereto. The apparatus also includes a motor module attached to an end of the base assembly. An extension arm is connected to a top surface of the shuttle plate. The extension arm has a spray head assembly attached at an opposite end thereof. The extension arm and spray head assembly will move relative to the base assembly of the apparatus. A fast cure coating will be applied via the spray head assembly to the interior surface of a pipe being rehabilitated. The spray head assembly will have an air blow off mechanism therein thus allowing for the tip of the spray head assembly to stay relatively clog free during the fast cure coating operation of the apparatus. The methodology also includes an oscillation system wherein the spray head assembly will move relative to the base assembly thus creating an over lapping pattern for the spray coating being applied to the interior surface of the pipeline. This oscillation system will allow for a more uniform coating to be applied.
Abstract:
A modular powder recovery apparatus includes a base unit, one or more cartridge filters, and a wrapper that at least partially encloses the cartridge filters. The wrapper is designed to allow additional wrappers to be vertically stacked thereon to increase the overall height of the wrapper, thus permitting additional filter capacity without changing the base unit. The base unit is modular in design so that the size of the apparatus may be increased with a minimum of cost and waste.
Abstract:
A cold gas spraying method and device, whereby the sprayed particles are accelerated in a gas flow. A powder tube and an outer nozzle body together form a Laval nozzle that produces high gas flow velocities. The injection of the sprayed particles occurs in the divergent section of the Laval nozzle.
Abstract:
The bowl according to the invention is provided with magnetic elements disposed around a male part which is adapted to be engaged in a central channel of a drive member, the magnetic elements forming outer radial flanges with respect to this male part. In the spraying device, the bowl is associated with a drive rotor, magnetic coupling means being provided which comprise magnetic bodies disposed on either side of at least one magnet borne by the rotor, while the bowl bears ribs formed in a magnetic material. The effort of magnetic coupling obtained has a radial component with respect to the axis of rotation of the bowl.
Abstract:
An apparatus for applying powder coating material onto large objects such as automotive, truck or other vehicle bodies includes a powder spray booth defining a controlled area within which to apply powder coating material onto the vehicle bodies, a powder kitchen located at a remote position from the powder spray booth, and, a number of feed hoppers located proximate the booth which receive powder coating material from the powder kitchen and supply it to automatically or manually manipulated powder spray guns associated with the booth. Oversprayed powder coating material is removed from the booth interior by a powder collection and recovery system which transmits the oversprayed powder back to the powder kitchen for recirculation to the powder spray guns.
Abstract:
A phosphate coating apparatus for depositing a phosphate coating on a metal material by electrolyzing the metal material in a predetermined electrolysis solution includes a positive electrode and a negative electrode, of which one electrode being disposed in contact with the metal material and the other electrode being disposed away from the metal material with a predetermined distance, and the other electrode being formed into a tubular shape so as to cover the entire length of the metal material.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a film-forming method, comprising dispensing from a dispenser nozzle a coating solution, which is prepared by adding a solid component to a solvent and controlled to be spread on the substrate in a predetermined range, onto a target substrate to be processed while relatively moving the dispenser nozzle and the target substrate so as to form a liquid film on the entire surface of the target substrate, and arranging a sucking nozzle above and apart from the target substrate such that the sucking nozzle is not in contact with the surface of the liquid film so as to permit the sucking nozzle to suck the solvent vapor right under the sucking nozzle while moving the sucking nozzle relative to the target substrate, thereby removing the solvent from the liquid film and, thus, forming a coated film.
