Abstract:
The invention relates to pressure-sensitive adhesive layers produced from aqueous dispersions consisting of polymers with isocyanate-reactive groups and of surface-deactivated solid isocyanates whose shear strength can be improved by elevated temperatures. In a first step, a property profile results after water is removed by drying at drying temperatures (a) ranging from 20null C. to 95null C. Said property profile can be influenced in a second step, by a thermal treatment (b) on the single or double-sided-pressure-sensitive adhesive tape or transfer tape or on the finished bonding, in order to improve shear strength (or rather to render it less inclined to creeping) with an acceptable loss of surface adhesiveness. The duration of the thermal treatment (b) ranges from a m of 5 seconds at 135null C. (or higher temperatures) to a maximum of 30 minutes at 90null C. (measured in the layer). The maximum temperature of the thermal treatment (b) exceeds the drying temperature (a) by at least 40null C. The cross-linked pressure-sensitive adhesive layers are used in high-performance adhesives, which are creep-resistant at high temperatures, in adhered joints in assembling and manufacturing processes, in adhesive tape configurations used in the field of fastenings, which can be statically subjected to stresses. They can also be used for fastening bondings with increased temperature stability and shear strength.
Abstract:
Adhesives having a microreplicated topography are prepared from contacting a microembossed pattern to a layer of adhesive. When an adhesion interface is established between the layer of adhesive and a supporting substrate, the topography of the adhesive surface controls the performance of the adhesion interface. Articles having microreplicated adhesive surfaces are also disclosed that have an advantage of providing microchannels for fluid egress for an effective period of time. Multiple microembossed patterns produce microreplicated adhesive surfaces having both microchannels for fluid egress and pegs for improved adhesive properties.

Method for applying liquids, in particular thermoplastics, to a substrate, whereby the substance is melted, heated and by means of a nozzle or doctor blade is passed through a perforated cylinder on to a supporting material, distinguished by the perforated cylinder being heated in the arc segment where the liquid passes through, which arc segment covers an angle of up to 180null, preferably between 5null and 90null in relation to the center point of the screen.
Abstract:
In ordinary temperature some ceramic materials can absorb the environmental energy and radiate appropriate amount of far infrared ray with wavelength of 4 nullm mnull14 nullm. Far infrared ray with wavelength of 4 nullmnull14 nullm can be absorbed by cell molecules of the living beings to cause resonance and activation. By utilizing this property, the slurry of the far infrared ceramic materials is coated with nullm-grade thickness on some flexible base films to form the product of the present invention, and is used as as a wrappage, a protective lining, . . . etc., so as to achieve the freshkeeping for the food, the late-ripen for the picked fruits, as well as the warmkeeping, raising and healthkeeping for the living beings.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a method and devices for producing flexible sheeting including a screened hot-melt adhesive coating wherein said sheeting is based on wovens, knits or non-wovens as mainly employed in garment setting inlays. The coating is accomplished with a paste forming a barrier layer, the imprint of which is powdered with the hot-melt adhesive powder. Excess powder not adhering to the imprint screen is removed by blower/suction means prior to the coating being dried and sintered.
Abstract:
A double eyelid forming tape or string that can form an eyelid with a clear fold easily and safely in a simple manner, and a method of manufacturing the same is provided. It is constructed by applying an adhesive 2 on a narrow tape member 1 being resiliently elastic, or being stretchable and exhibiting resilient elasticity after being stretched, and providing holding portions 3 having no adhering property on the surfaces at both ends thereof for holding by fingertips. A fold of the double eyelid is formed by pressing the tape member 1 on the position of the eyelid where the user wants to form a fold in a state where both ends thereof are held and stretched, adhering the tape member 1 thereon with the adhesive 2, and releasing the same. Therefore, when the tape member 1 under a tension resiliently contracts, it breaks into the eyelid 7 and forms an eyelid with a fold.
Abstract:
The application of (for example, elongated strip-shaped) spots of adhesive paste to successive objects (such as paper or cardboard blanks which are to be converted into soft or hinged-lid packs for arrays of cigarettes) which are advanced stepwise below the nozzle or nozzles of one or more pasters at an adhesive-applying station is regulated by a control unit which receives signals denoting the speed of the conveyor for the objects and the position of the object at the adhesive-applying station. The control unit regulates the operation of the valve for each nozzle of the paster by taking into consideration the inertia of electrical and mechanical constituents of the paster. This ensures the application of spots having an optimum shape and an optimum position relative to the respective objects and containing predetermined quantities of adhesive. The control unit ascertains a compensation interval for the inertia which is added to or subtracted from a system-dependent correction interval which reflects the pattern of advancement of the objects.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of applying a multi-component glue mixture to objects passing through an applicator station for the application of said glue mixture in a manufacturing line. Waste glue mixture is produced during the application of said glue. The method comprises mixing glue components in a mixer to form said glue mixture. The waste glue mixture is collected in a tank, where it is mixed with a fresh glue component to form a mixture. The mixture of waste glue mixture and fresh component is returned to said mixer. A multi-component glue applicator machine (3) according to the invention comprises storage tanks (4, 6) for glue component, day tanks (17, 18) for said glue components, and mixing apparatus (38, 40, 42) for mixing glue components from said day tanks (17, 18) to form a glue mixture thereof. There is provided a glue applicator device (44). One of said day tanks (17) is provided beneath the glue applicator (44).
Abstract:
A cylindrical member is placed in a dead-end hole formed in a housing made of a material such as aluminum. A peripheral portion of the hole is pressed down to plastically deform the housing material and to supply the deformed material into a groove formed on an outer periphery of the cylindrical member. The cylindrical member is calked to the housing in this manner. To supply a proper amount of deformed material into the groove for obtaining a quality calking, an inflection point of a calking curve indicating a relation of a calking force and a calking stroke is detected during the calking process. After the inflection point is detected, the calking is performed by giving a predetermined calking stroke or by adding a predetermined calking force.
Abstract:
The invention is a method of preparing and applying a custom art design to a paved surface. The method comprises preparing a customized art design to be placed on a specific area of pavement by use of photographic manipulation and computer software. Thereafter, a stencil is prepared by routing under the direction of additional software that incorporates the customized art prepared by a customer. Using the prepared stencils, the customized art is applied to the desired surface area. This includes applying a white latex primer/binder coating for the customized art to adhere. Applied to the latex base coat are custom colors using multiple custom stencils, one for each color in the design. Upon drying, a glass beaded clear coat is applied over the full design to give it protection from weather and traffic as well as a non-slip texture.
