Abstract:
A nonwoven fabric comprised of a self-sustaining pre-bonded web formed by carding together first relatively thin monocomponent fibers, second relatively thicker monocomponent fibers, and 1-5% bicomponent fibers with the low softening point component thereof bonding together the first, second and bicomponent fibers to form the self-sustaining web. Six to ten percent by weight of cured latex particles are disposed within the fabric and smeared on the outer surfaces of the fabric, the particles being cured in situ to provide enhanced tensile strength to the fabric.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for protecting electrical power transmissions systems that may or may not be energized. A two part resin composition acting as a dielectric material is distributed on electrical power systems at a location close to the transmissions systems. The dielectric material has dielectric properties suitable for protecting the desired areas in the solid form and that allow for safe application in the liquid form. The dielectric material can be distributed before installation of the electric lines or can be retrofitted to existing installations.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for depositing a thickfilm dielectric on a substrate. The method commences with the deposition of a first layer of thickfilm dielectric on the substrate, followed by an air drying of the first layer to allow solvents to escape, thereby increasing the porosity of the first layer. The first layer is then oven dried. Thereafter, additional layers of thickfilm dielectric are deposited on top of the first layer, with each layer being oven dried after it is deposited. The deposited layers are then fired.
Abstract:
A method of powder coating thermo powder resins to non-conductive plastic substrates, in particular, to polyamide materials and other non-conductive plastic substrates. It discloses a method for powder coating a non-conductive plastic substrate comprising the following steps: (a) cleaning said substrates to remove any contaminants or mold release agents therefrom; (b) applying an adhesive/sealer to said substrate; (c) curing said adhesive/sealer by means of heat; (d) applying a thermosetting powder to the hot substrate; and (e) curing said thermosetting powder with heat.

The use formulation includes (d) water of dilution.
Abstract:
A method and metal equipment for use in wells, wherein metal equipment is used in the operation and drilling of a well, and wherein the metal equipment has a surface. In one embodiment, the method comprises applying a polyphenylene sulfide coating to the surface and curing the polyphenylene sulfide coating. In other embodiments, the method further comprises cleaning the surface before applying the polyphenylene sulfide coating. Additional embodiments include the method further comprising applying a primer coating to the surface.
Abstract:
A method of applying a multi-component coating of a desired composition over a substrate includes providing a coating device in flow communication with a first coating component having a first rheological profile and at least one second coating component having a second rheological profile. The method further includes defining a desired ratio of the first and at least one second coating components to provide a coating of a desired composition, and selecting the rheological profiles of the first and at least one second coating components such that the coating components are supplied at a desired ratio.
Abstract:
A process for the preparation of a coating, coated substrate, film or sheet, in which process a coating mixture comprising a reactive system of polyisocyanate-functional, a polyketone-functional, a polyepoxide-functional, a polyanhydride-functional and/or a poly carbonate-functional compound or polymer and a dispersion or fine powder of a compound containing a reactive hydrogen, which mixture is not or low reactive at room temperature, is applied onto a substrate, resulting in a substrate coated with the coating mixture, followed by reacting the compounds mentioned above by elevating the temperature, in a substrate coated with the coating mixture, followed by reacting the compounds mentioned above by elevating the temperature, in which the reaction temperature and consequently the reaction rate can be adjusted as desired by the addition of an additive to the coating mixture, or to one of the reactants of the coating mixture, prior to the mixing with the other component. According to the invention optionally a second reactive system is present and both systems are essentially reacted as a sequential two step reaction and between these reaction steps the coating is remoulded. The invention further comprises a product obtained by the process.
Abstract:
A wet-formed permeable mat composed of wet use chopped strands (WUCS), chopped roving, and potentially unidirectional roving coupled with an alkaline resistant binder are combined to create an randomly oriented open mat structure with a high degree of openness that can be used in cement backerboard applications. The cement backerboard that is subsequently formed from the wet-formed permeable mat has lower binder content, superior decorative finish, and better permeability control than known glass scrim systems and can be produced in a single continuous step.
