The fibrous members (20) are arranged to be along each surface by being caught by the emitter (11) and the collector (12), and therefore the interval between the emitter (11) and the collector (12) is surely stipulated by the thickness of the fibrous member (20). Accordingly, the emitter (11) and the collector (12) are held at a small interval.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To carry out high temperature heating of a thermal cathode for high thermal electron emitting efficiency. CONSTITUTION:A thermal cathode heating apparatus is provided with a heater 1 united with a thermal cathode 2 set face to face an electron collecting pole 9, a microwave resonance cavity 3 so formed as to wrap the heater 1, and a microwave generator 6 joined to the hollow space 3 through a microwave guiding tube 5 in a vacuum container 8. Consequently, due to induction heating by the microwaves generated by the microwave generator 6, the heater 1 is heated to higher temperature than that in the case of a conventional apparatus and the thermal cathode 2 is also heated to the same temperature. As a result, efficient thermal electron emission by the thermal cathode 2 can be done and efficiency of an electron beam generating apparatus can be improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To generate electricity under solar heat through a very simple construction, by sealing a cathode, a plate, argon gas and so forth in a heat-resisting glass container whose top has a convex lens for condensing sunlight, to constitute an electricity generation tube. CONSTITUTION:A cathode 1 and a plate 2 are housed in a heat-resisting glass container 4 whose top has a convex lens 3 for condensing sunlight. The cathode 1 and the plate 2 are secured to a base 6 and legs 5 by pillars 7. After the container 4 is evacuated of air, argon gas is sealed therein. A vacuum tube A for electricity generation by solar heat is thus constructed. The cathode 1 is heated by the condensed sunlight to emit thermoelectrons to take out a voltage across a resistor 8. The electricity generation by solar heat is thus performed through a very simple construction at a very low cost.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable cesium to be hermetically-contained securely by housing an ampule having cesium in a cylindrical container, in which a vacuum condition is kept thereafter, and then breaking the ampule, heating the container, and transfering a cesium vapor to a container in which the cesium is to be hermetically-contained. CONSTITUTION:A thermions generator 10 is formed so that Cs can be poured from a continuing hole 18 into the gap 15 between an emitter 12 and a collector 14, with an ampule 21, in which Cs is contained together with argon gas through a pipe 22, being housed and then connected to a cylindrical container 20 having a heater 3. After vacuumizing the container 20 with sorption pump 4B, the ampule 21 is broken by deforming the container 20 with external force, then exhausting argon gas with an ion pump 4A, and the container 20 is enclosed with its pump side being pinched, thereafter heating the container with the heater 3 to pour Cs vapor into the generator 10. Therefore only Cs can be hermetically-contained securely and easily into the generator 10.
