    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source and an image display device having performance higher than that of conventional ones.
    SOLUTION: In a light source device part 2, a white light LT 2 obtained by ionizing and light-emitting a gas 24 by a laser beam emitted from a semiconductor laser 10 is used as the light source. The light source obtained in this manner as the white light can be substantially treated as a spot light source, and has a uniform band level in a visible light band. An image display device is configured in a manner that a single color light for a color image is extracted from such white light and displayed. For the image displayed on the display device, pixels can be made small up to the same degree as those of the light source. As to the displayed single color light, luminous intensity balance become almost uniform without variations therein.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the thickness of watch body, made possible the independent supply of each part and improve after-service characteristic by separating a liquid crystal display device part and its lighting H light part. CONSTITUTION:A H light 10 is surrounded of its side face by a H light frame 17 and is bonded at its bottom face togehter with the frame 17 to a H light receiving plate 18 by a double-coated adhesive tape 21. The light 10 is covered at its top face by a semitransparent reflecting plate 8 and is bonded to the frame 17 by means of double-coated adhesive tape 19, whereby a H light part 5 is constituted. Liquid crystal material is sealed in the space formed by an upper glass 2, lower glass 3 and sealing member 4. The liquid crystal display deivce 1 constituted by an upper polarizing plate 6 and lower polarizing plate 7 is fixed to a connector frame 14 by fastening liquid crystal display device retainers 15 with screws 16 and is electrically conducted to an electronic circuit block by means of a connector.
