    Abstract: THE INVENTION PROVIDES A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A HIT STRUCTURE FOR MULTICRYSTALLINE SILICON SUBSTRATE MADE OF AN N-TYPE MULTICRYSTALLINE SILICON SUBSTRATE. FIRST, THE N-TYPE MULTICRYSTALLINE SILICON SUBSTRATE IS SUBJECT TO A PHOSPHORUS DIFFUSION STEP USING A RELATIVELY HIGH TEMPERATURE. THE FRONT SIDE DIFFUSION LAYER IS THEN REMOVED. THROUGH THE PROCESS OF THE PHOSPHORUS DIFFUSION, IMPURITIES LIKE IRON INCLUDED DURING THE INGOT-CASTING ARE GETTERED AND THE BULK PROPERTY IS IMPROVED. THE PHOSPHORUS-DIFFUSED LAYER ALSO SERVES AS A BACK SURFACE FIELD TO RAISE THE VOLTAGE AND A BACK CONTACT WITH LOW RESISTIVITY. AS A NEXT STEP, A P-TYPE SILICON THIN FILM IS DEPOSITED AT THE FRONT SIDE OF THE SUBSTRATE. DUE TO THIS SPECIFIC SEQUENCE, HEATING THE P-TYPE SILICON THIN FILM AT HIGHER TEMPERATURES THAN ITS DEPOSITION TEMPERATURE CAN BE AVOIDED, AND SO THE QUALITY OF THE P-TYPE SILICON THIN FILM IS MAINTAINED.

The method includes in a sequence: texturing (102) the front surface to create a textured front surface (2a); creating (103) by diffusion of a dopant of the first conductivity type a first conductivity-type doped layer (2c) in the textured front surface and a back surface field layer (4) of the first conductivity type in the back surface; removing (105; 104a) the first conductivity-type doped layer from the textured front surface by an etching process adapted for retaining texture of the textured front surface; creating (106) a layer of a second conductivity type (6) on the textured front surface by diffusion of a dopant of the second conductivity type into the textured front surface.

    Abstract: A process for treating biomass comprises providing a material that contains an amount of residual moisture. The material is heated to a torrefying temperature in a low-oxygen atmosphere in a torrefaction reactor to convert it into a torrefied material. The material with the contained residual moisture is essentially fully dried in a drying chamber by evaporation of residual moisture. The torrefaction reactor comprises a torrefying chamber, in which the torrefaction of this dried material is essentially carried out. The material is conveyed through the torrefaction reactor. The drying of the material in the drying chamber is carried out by introducing into it a hot drying gas that flows therethrough cocurrently with the material. The torrefaction of the material in the torrefying chamber of the torrefaction reactor is carried out by introducing into it a hot torrefying gas that flows through the torrefying chamber countercurrently with the material.
