    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved circuit model for simulating an electric circuit by creating a solved state which is based on resistive data based on the states of input parts and output parts. SOLUTION: In a modified pad cell 30 connected to an internal pull-up cell 32, a connecting section 34 to an I/O pad cell is insulated from an output driver 36 by means of an insulating buffer 38 added to a pad cell model while the cell 32 is completely arbitrary. Each two-way pad cell model uses three separate pins, namely, an input-only pin, output-only pin, and solution pin. The solution pin not only has the effect of resistive data, namely, resistive state supplied from a pull-up/down resistor/cell, but also reflects the combination of input and output data. Therefore, when an uncertain resistive state controls the input of a circuit, the wrong designing operation/function resulting from the control can be eliminated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a high voltage AC signal generator circuit which generates a high voltage electric signal with a little power loss and also performs circuit integration on a semiconductor substrate. CONSTITUTION: An oscillator circuit 10 which has an amplifier 12 and a feedback loop (feedback network) 14 magnifies a generation signal by appropriately selecting a capacitance ratio in the feedback loop. A voltage separator which separates a high voltage part from input and output(I/O) of an oscillator core of an integrated circuit in order to separate the magnified high voltage signal. Magnified voltage generates a high voltage signal that is suitable to communicate a stylus signal. Voltage that is separated and relatively low is used on a feedback path to stabilize the operation of the oscillator core.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device for generating an electronic circuit for connecting a device to a bus such as a system bus in a computer. CONSTITUTION: A parameter which a user designates for setting a device adapter 16 interfacing the device 14 with the bus 12 is received, and the device adapter 16 customized based on the parameter which the user designates is generated. The user can easily specify and generate the custom device adapter 16 for connecting the plural different devices 14 to the bus 12 by using a common design macro which can freely be programmed. Thus, the plural different devices can be interfaced with a single device adapter integrated circuit or a computer provided with a card with the constitution of the adapter 16 which is thus obtained.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce distortion of a signal or to decrease jitter considerably depending on digital data in the case of decoding the digital data from the transmitted balanced signal. SOLUTION: A balanced signal includes a plurality of pulses of a 1st width. A receiver includes an input circuit 20, a buffer circuit 4, and a calibration circuit 60. The input circuit 20 includes a 1st differential amplifier to receive the signal and to amplify the 1st signal, a 2nd differential amplifier to amplify a 2nd signal, and a converter that receives the amplified 1st and 2nd signals to generate a 3rd signal. The buffer circuit receives the 3rd signal to butter the signal and provides an output of a 4th signal that includes a plurality of 2nd pulses having a plurality of 2nd pulse widths. The calibration circuit 60 receives the 4th signal, responds to it that the width of a plurality of the 2nd pulses is not equal to the width of the 1st pulse to generate a calibration signal. The calibration signal is received by the buffer circuit 40 to correct the 4th signal so that each width of a plurality of the 2nd pulses is nearly equal to the 1st pulse width.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the noise interference of an electrostatic digitizing panel, by amplifying the signal when a an object is close to the digitizing panel with an amplifier, detecting a noise impulse connected to a resistance layer, and disconnecting the input of the amplifier from the resistance layer according to the detection. SOLUTION: Currents flowing to corner wires 20a-20d are caused substantially by the object which is close to the digitizing panel. When a noise detector 40 detects a noise phenomenon on the corner wire 20d, a trigger signal is sent to a blanking pulse generator 42 through a line 62. A control signal generated on the line 64 changes a switch from an opening state to a closing state, and consequently the input of the amplifier 36d is disconnected from the output of an I/V converter 34d and the input of a signal converter 38d is disconnected from the output of the amplifier 36d.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply edit and erase a text and graphics on a display by dividing an area surrounded by a peripheral curve with a required number of lines and deciding information to be erased in a given line. SOLUTION: Coordinate value of a position of a stylus 110 on a digitizing tablet 115 is received by a computer system 140 from a WTIC(write touch interface circuit) 130 via a communication circuit 135. Information inputted from the WTIC 130 is interpreted by a processor 154 to command a driver 152 to display a picture on a liquid crystal display (LCD) 120. The picture displayed on the LCD 12 follows closely a process of the stylus 110. A described area surrounded by a peripheral curve is divided with a required number of lines and these lines are processed by the computer system 140 to decide information to be erased in the given lines.

SOLUTION: In a data processing system 100, a computer 102 is connected to the storage subsystems 106, 108 and 110 via a bus 112. Each of these subsystems has a storage device and a controller.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily store data in a storage device by identifying plural zones of different data transfer rates, identifying the data transfer rate of every zone, and then storing the zone data based on the identified transfer rate of every zone. SOLUTION: This process decides the minimum transfer rate to the disk zone in a storage device which stores the video data (S400). Then the video rate requested by the video data is decided (S402), and a system overhead constant K is offered (S404). The number N of simultaneous parallel streams is calculated from Km/V (S406). For instance, the transfer rate (m) is set at 5 megabytes/sec against a single zone together with the video rate V set at 3 megabytes/sec, and the constant K set at 8.85 respectively. Under such conditions, the number N of simultaneous parallel streams is set at 11.3. Therefore, a specified zone can support 11 video streams.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve throughput by transferring 1st data between a host device and a disk device through a 1st bus and transferring 2nd data between a processor and a controller resource without consuming any part of band width of 1st bus. SOLUTION: Data are sent from a disk drive 33 connected to a channel 32 through an input/output processor 24 to a DRAM 22 across a PCI local bus 28. In a processor 12, read data are sent from the DRAM 22 through a 2nd interface circuit 16 across the bus 28 to a host device 31. A 1st interface circuit 14 is provided with a circuit for interfacing the controller resource such as RAM or flash EPROM or the processor 12 connected to an auxiliary bus 38 such as ISA bus or any bus similar to it. Concerning data transfer to the processor 12, data are sent across a processor local bus 26.
