Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition for detection or quantitation of CHO cell DNA is provided to effectively detect or quantitate DNA contained in a CHO cell culture or a purified material thereof. CONSTITUTION: A composition for detection or quantitation of CHO(Chinese hamster ovary) cell DNA contains a primer set of sequence numbers 1 and 2 and a probe of sequence number 3. A fluorescent marker is inserted into one end of the probe and a fluorescent repressor is inserted into the other end. A method for detection or quantitation of CHO cell DNA comprises: a step of isolating DNA from a sample; a step of performing PCR of the DNA using the primer set and the probe; and a step of measuring a fluorescent signal.
