Abstract: A spatial-temporal noise removing method using a block classification and a display apparatus to which the same is applied are provided to classify the image into a flat area and a non-flat area. The first to three motion calculation members(110,120,130) calculate a motion-compensated field by means of the noise-removed first field, the noise-removed second field and the third field. The first motion calculation member produces the first motion compensation field by means of the third field and the noise-removed second field. A classification member(200) classifies the third field into the flat area with similar pixel values and the non-flat area with no similar pixel values by means of any one field between the first field and the second field, and the third field.
