PURPOSE: A protein with antibacterial activity isolated from human amniotic fluid is provided to show antibacterial activity against harmful bacteria and to be used as a cosmetic product and a pharmaceutical preservative. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial and antiseptic composition contains a protein of sequence number 1 with antibacterial activity as an active ingredient. The protein is derived from human amniotic fluid. The protein has antibacterial activity against one selected among Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris, and Salmonella typhimurium. An agrochemical formulation contains the proteins as an active ingredient. A cosmetic composition with antibacterial activity contains the proteins as an active ingredient.

PURPOSE: A novel antifungal peptide isolated from Solanum tuberosum L cv. Jopung is provided to have an antifungal activity against Candida albicans and to be used in pharmaceutical compositions, cosmetic compositions, agrochemicals, preservatives for foods, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical products. CONSTITUTION: An antifungal peptide has an amino acid sequence of sequence number 1 and is isolated from Solanum tuberosum L cv. Jopung. The molecular weight of the antifungal peptide is 1.0831 kDa. A method for preparing the peptide comprises the steps of: freeze-drying and pulverizing bulbs of Solanum tuberosum L cv. Jopung; extracting the pulverized bulbs and preparing an extract; centrifuging the extract and collecting a supernatant fraction; and isolating and purifying the supernatant fraction by chromatography. An antifungal pharmaceutical composition contains the peptide as an active ingredient.

CONSTITUTION: A peptide for preventing red tide has an amino acid which is substituted from positive charge to negative charge in a helix peptide with antibiotic activity. The amino acid with positive charge is a hydrophilic part. A peptide of helix structure with antibiotic activity is an amino acid of sequence number 1. A peptide for preventing red tide is an amino acid of sequence number 2. A composition for preventing red tide contains a peptide of sequence number 2 as an active ingredient. A cationic increment antibiotic peptide produced by cleaving a non-native structure of an analogs peptide derived from ribosomal protein l1 of helicobacter pylori is provided to improve cationic properties while leaving a helical structure of an analogs peptide derived from ribosomal protein l1 of helicobacter pylori. A method for producing a cationic increment antibiotic peptide comprises the following steps of: cleaving 1st~4th amino acids of HPA3(Helicobacter pylori Analogue 3) having an amino acid sequence indicated as sequence number 2; and substituting a positive charge amino acid for the 9th amino acid of glutamic acid and the 13th amino acid of serine. The positive charge amino acid is selected from the group consisting of lysine, arginine, and histidine.

A novel peptide isolated from a novel Bacillus subtilis S1 is provided to show excellent antibiotic effect on harmful fungi and bacteria, thereby being usefully used as an antibacterial and anti-fungal pharmaceutical composition, a pesticide, or a preservative of food, cosmetics or medicines. A Bacillus subtilis S1 having the antibiotics activity is deposited as a deposition no. KCTC 10888BP. A method for purifying a peptide from the Bacillus subtilis comprises the steps of: (a) culturing the Bacillus subtilis S1; (b) after filtering a culture solution obtained from the step(a), loading the filtrate into RP-HPLC(reverse phase-high performance liquid chromatography); (c) eluting proteins to a column of the step(b) using an eluent with gradually increased acetonitrile concentration; and (d) recovering a peak fraction from the eluent and investigating the antibacterial activity thereof. A peptide purified by the method and showing anti-bacterial and anti-fungal activities is characterized in that it is secreted from the Bacillus subtilis S1, has a molecular weight of 1.4-1.6 KDa, and shows antibacterial activity on Rhizoctonia solani and Colletotrichum coccodes. An anti-bacterial and anti-fungal pharmaceutical composition, a biological pesticide or a preservative of foods, cosmetics, or medicines comprises the peptide as an effective ingredient. Further, the concentration of the acetonitrile increases from 5% to 65%.
