Abstract: PURPOSE: Structure of a cylinder head gasket is provided to strongly apply the axial force of a head bolt to a combustion chamber by reducing the loss of facial pressure at a stepped portion on the inner face of an inner plate. CONSTITUTION: An inner plate is interposed between an upper and a lower plates. On the inner face of the inner plate, a stepped portion(22) of which thickness is smaller than that of the other portions. When a head bolt is combined, the loss of facial pressure in the stepped portion is reduced. The facial pressure applied to a combustion chamber rises. Therefore, the sealing property of the combustion chamber is improved.
