Abstract: PURPOSE: A knee bolster for a vehicle is provided to enhance load absorbing efficiency since the knee load of a passenger is doubly absorbed through the deformation of a U-shaped bracket and shock absorbing foam in vehicle collision. CONSTITUTION: A knee bolster for a vehicle comprises a U-shaped bracket(100) and shock absorbing foam(200). The U-shaped bracket is installed on a cowl cross bar and bent in a U shape. The U-shaped bracket is deformed to absorb the knee load of a passenger for the first time in vehicle collision. The shock absorbing foam is coupled to the U-shaped bracket. In vehicle collision, the shock absorbing foam is deformed and slid upward along the U-shaped bracket to absorb the knee load of the passenger for the second time.
