Abstract: A method for improving heating performance of a vehicle is provided to increase an engine rpm to a target value for preventing the decrease of room heating performance, when a vehicle is in the idling state after running for 30 minutes at atmospheric temperature of -20°C. A method for improving heating performance of a vehicle includes the steps of setting model values for atmospheric temperature conditions, vehicle speed conditions, and cooling water temperature conditions. As an engine is started, cooling water temperature is read for outputting an engine rpm proper for the read cooling water temperature. The engine rpm is corrected according to oil temperature of an automatic transmission. Real atmospheric temperature, real vehicle speed and real cooling water temperature are read. The real ones are compared with corresponding threshold values for outputting conditions for improving heating performance. If the conditions for improving the heating performance are satisfied, the engine rpm is increased to a target value.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An initial value setting method for idle speed control feedback is provided to prevent rpm drop and overshoot by applying the compensation value of idle speed control feedback through algorithm in idling or decelerating. CONSTITUTION: An engine is operated(S1), and the operational state is detected according to electric load(S2). The feedback control of an idle speed controller is finished(S3), and water temperature is checked in not feedback controlling(S4). A temporary initial value is input to reset the initial feedback value corresponding to water temperature range(S5), and idle speed control is started according to the initial feedback value(S6). Operation of a dashpot is detected at feedback(S7), and the target rpm is compared with the actual rpm in finishing operation of the dashpot(S8). The predetermined value is added or subtracted from the initial feedback value according to difference between actual rpm and target rpm(S9), and the initial feedback value is stored(S10). Rpm drop or engine stall is prevented with resetting the initial feedback value repeatedly.
