Abstract: PURPOSE: A headrest preventing the injury of necks by using a lumbar support is provided to prevent the neck injury of passengers in a rear-end collision by using an active headrest, and to cut down expenses by reducing accessories by integrating the load transmission device of an active headrest and the lumbar support. CONSTITUTION: A headrest preventing neck injuries is composed of a headrest-supporting rod(13) with a rail groove(13a) sliding a headrest holder(14) installed in the seat bag frame(10) of a horizontal supporting rod(11) to return to the former condition by the return spring(15) of an inside groove. A lumbar support(20) is formed with a load transmission plate(21) installed in the spot of contacting passengers' lumbar and a spring(22), and is connected with the seat bag(10) frame by the spring(22). An uneven horizontal supporting rod(23) is installed in the rear load transmission plate(21), and is fixed on the seat bag frame(10) in horizontal. A wire(16) fixed on the wire-coupling member(17) of the seat bag frame(10) is inserted between the load transmission plate(21) and the horizontal supporting rod(23), and is connected with the headrest holder(14). A hinge axis(18) is installed to rotate and protrude the headrest(12) in a wire(16) being pulled backward. Wire-supporting rods(19a, 19b) are installed in the upper and lower side(16) of the wire to control the angle of wires.
