Abstract:
A process for production of expandable styrene polymers with narrow bead-size distribution with high specific reactor yield via polymerization of the monomers in aqueous suspension in a stirred tank in the presence of a volatile blowing agent, where the styrene-containing organic phase is added simultaneously with the aqueous phase to the stirred tank over a period of from 5 to 60 minutes.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing moulded foam elements from pre-foamed foam particles in a mould under pressure, said moulded foam elements having a polymer coating that comprises an amphiphilic or hydrophobic organic compound. The invention also relates to moulded foam elements produced therefrom and their use.
Abstract:
A method for the production of coated, expandable, styrene polymer (EPS) granules by extrusion of a styrene polymer melt containing an expanding agent through a nozzle plate with subsequent underwater granulation, wherein the EPS granules are coated by coating agents that are soluble, emulsifiable or suspendable in water in the water circuit of the underwater granulator.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing expandable styrene polymers containing particulate additives, said method comprising the following steps: a) producing prepolymer pellets by means of a first suspension polymerization of an aqueous suspension containing styrene monomers and particulate additives; b) separating the prepolymer pellets; c) optionally dividing the prepolymer pellets into fractions of different particle size and selecting one or more fractions for subsequent steps; d) producing an aqueous suspension of the prepolymer pellets and performing at least one second suspension polymerization in the presence of blowing agent and while metering additional monomers.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing cellular material moulded articles from prefoamed cellular material polymer-coated particles in a pressurised mould, wherein said prefoamed cellular material particles comprise a filler, whose content ranges from 10 to 70 % by weight with respect thereto, and cellular material articles mould according the inventive method and the use thereof are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A process for the production of insecticide-modified bead material composed of expandable polystyrene (EPS) by extrusion, encompassing the steps of a) mixing, in a mixer, to incorporate a blowing agent and at least one insecticide from the group of the phenylpyrazoles, chlorfenapyr and hydramethylnon into a polymer melt which comprises at least one polystyrene, based on a vinylaromatic monomer, b) discharging the polymer melt comprising blowing agent, and c) pelletizing the polymer melt comprising blowing agent.
Abstract:
A process for producing coated foam beads, wherein an aqueous polymer dispersion is applied to the foam beads and then dried to form a water-insoluble polymer film, and foam moldings produced therefrom and the use thereof.
