Abstract: Compounds of the formula I in which A represents a substituted thio-, sulphinyl- or sulphonylalkanoyl radical or a four- to eleven-membered heterocycle, B is an amino acid radical, R denotes hydrogen, (substd.) alkyl, (substd.) cycloalkyl or aryl, R represents hydrogen, (substd.) alkyl or aryl, R denotes a radical of the formula -(CH2)q-(X)r-(CH2)sR where X = CF2, CO or CHR , R = (substd.) heteroaromatic, R = alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylamino, hydroxyl, azide or halogen, q and s = 1 to 4 and r = 0 or 1, and R denotes hydrogen, (substd.) alkyl, alkanoyl, cycloalkanoyl, (substd.) aroyl or (substd.) aryl and their salts. Processes for the preparation of these compounds and their use as renin inhibitors are additionally described.
