Abstract: The novel feature in a multilayer polyolefin film with a polypropylene-contg. base layer is that the top layer contains at least 50 wt.% of a low crystalline C3/C4 olefin resin mixt. (I) and is modified to have a seal initiating temp. of 85-110 deg.C by corona treatment and/or addn. of a propylene polymer. Claimed prodn. is by co-extrusion using draw-off rolls at 10-90 deg.C, followed by biaxially stretching at 4-7:1 (longitudinal) and 6-11:1 (transverse), heat fixing and opt. also corona treatment.

Abstract: -1- A propylene block copolymer having good flow properties and a very good low temperature impact strength is obtained in a high yield if a catalyst which consists of a chiral metallocene, containing a bridge, of the for- mula I and an aluminoxane is used for the polymerization of propylene and the comonomers. The polymerization is carried out in two stages, a crystalline propylene polymer being prepared in the first stage.

Abstract: In the process according to the invention for the preparation of a polypropylene, a catalyst system is used which is based on the product of the reaction of a magnesium halide with an electron donor and a tetravalent titanium compound, a halogen-free organoaluminum compound and two different organosilicon compounds as stereo-regulator. Propylene homopolymers and copolymers having a very narrow molecular weight distribution and high isotacticity are obtained in high yields. The polymers are suitable, in particular, for injection molding.
