    Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently decolor an acyloxyarylsulfonic acid by allowing hydrogen peroxide to act on the acyloxyarylsulfonic acid at a specified temperature and at a specified pH. CONSTITUTION:Hydrogen peroxide in an amount of 0.5 to 400 pts.wt. is allowed to act on 100 pts.wt. compound of formula I or II [R is a 1 to 21C alkyl, alkenyl, phenyl, etc.; R is a 1 to 4C alkyl; (n) is 0 to 2; M is H, an alkaline metal, an alkaline earth metal, a cation, etc.] or its salt at pH=2 to 10, preferably pH=4 to 6 and at 20 to 105 deg.C, preferably 60 to 80 deg.C. An acyloxyarylsulfonic acid can be excellently improved in its hue while effectively inhibiting hydrolysis of this compound or perhydrolysis of the compound causing formation of a peracid by using hydrogen peroxide as the decoloring agent under a prescribed condition. In the case hydrogen peroxide is remaining after this decoloring treatment, a reducing agent such as Na2SO3 or NaHSO3 is added to remove the reducing agent.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the composition which can exhibit a high bleaching effect on both hydrophilic dirt and a hydrophobic dirt by mixing a specified bleaching activator with hydrogen peroxide or a compound which forms hydrogen peroxide in an aqueous solution. CONSTITUTION:The composition is produced by mixing a bleaching activator comprising a compound of formula I (wherein at least one of X, Y and Z is a group of formula II, and the rest are -SO3- groups, -SO3M groups, -OSO3 groups, -OSO3M groups or like groups; R is 4-18 C alkyl, alkenyl, hydroxyalkyl, aryl or the like; R is 1-3C alkylene; B is methylene, -O-, -C(O)O-, -OC(O)-, -C(O)NHor the like; n is 0 or 1; M is an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, an ammonium salt or the like; and R to R are each 1-20C alkyl, alkenyl, hydroxyalkyl or the like) (e.g. a compound of formula III) with hydrogen peroxide or a compound which forms hydrogen peroxide in an aqueous solution.
