    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector with reduced the cost without solder and flux creeping up. SOLUTION: The electric connector is composed of an insulation housing 40 and a number of terminals 20. The terminal 20 is provided with a flat-plate substrate part 21, a contact pair 24 made of a continuous piece 23 folded back from the substrate part 21 at one side face of the substrate part 21, and a carrier coupling piece 30 bent at around right angles from the substrate part 21 at the other side face of the substrate part 21. The insulation housing 40 is overmolded around the substrate part 21 of the terminal 20, holding it formed in a flat-plate shape, the contact pair 24 of the terminal 20 is extended toward one face 40A of the insulation housing 40, and the carrier coupling piece 30 is extended toward the other face 40B of the insulation housing 40. SOLUTION: This socket connector 1 connects an integrated circuit package 3 having a large number of contact points 22 in the form of BGA and LGA, and a printed circuit bard for forming a large number of conductive pads, and has a socket housing for housing the integrated circuit package 3, and a terminal 2 supported by a housing pat 7 sandwiched between the integrated circuit package 3 of this socket housing and the printed circuit board, and electrically connecting the contact points 22 and the conductive pads. The thermal 2 has a plate-like body part 10 arranged in parallel to a plate surface of the housing part 7, and a contact point arm 14 extending as a cantilever from this plate-like body part 10. The housing part 7 is molded over a peripheral edge part of the plate-like body part 10 of the terminal 2, and supports the terminal 2.

SOLUTION: The card-edge connector 1 is provided with a slim insulation housing 2 with a slot 7 for accepting the edge of a card formed along a longitudinal direction, and a plurality of terminals 3, 4 with contacts 10, 11 housed in contact housing grooves 9a, 9b formed on the inside wall of the slot 7. The plurality of the terminals includes a plurality of terminals 3 having soldering tails 5 extended toward outside over the bottom face 2a of the insulation housing 2, and a plurality of terminals 4 having soldering balls arranged at the bottom face 2a of the insulation housing 2. The soldering tails 5 of the terminals 3 are arrayed in a row in a longitudinal direction of the insulation housing 2.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for a PGA package capable of being reduced in size and having a slide cover capable of sliding parallel to a base housing. SOLUTION: A socket 50 for a pin grid array package comprises a base housing 51, equipped with terminals in grid-like formation electrically engageable with a lead pin of the PGA package and a slide cover 52 disposed on the upper side of the base housing 51 and equipped with through-holes 56 in grid-like formation. Engagement pieces 54 having an L-shaped side surface are provided so as to hang down from both side edges of the slide cover 52 and to run along the outside of both side surfaces of the base housing 51, and the sliding of the slide cover 52 is thereby guided. Parallel relation between the base housing 51 and the slide cover 52 can be maintained by lateral pieces of the engagement pieces 54 which have an L-shaped side surface engaging with the under side of locking protrusive ridges 114 provided on both side surfaces of the base housing 51 parallel to the plate surface of the base housing 51.
