Abstract: A preassembled air data sensor probe and air data transducer assembly (10) has permanently connected flexible tubing (13, 14, 15, 16) coupling the air data transducer fittings and the sensor fittings (13A, 14A, 15A, 16A). The flexible tubing (13-16) permits the air data sensor (11) and air data transducer (20) to be installed into an air vehicle (18) after having been preassembled and pretested for leaks at the factory. The permanently connected assembly (10) avoids the need for calibration or pressure checks after installation on the aircraft (18). The preassembled flexible tubing (13-16) permits manipulation of the transducer (20) to mount it into its proper location even in tight quarters. The flexible tubing (13-16) can have a section that acts as a drain trap (41) for accumulating ingested water.

Abstract: A transmitter (10) for use in a process control system has externally accessible actuators for permitting adjustment of the zero and span (or full scale) settings of the transmitter (10). The transmitter (10) has an explosion-proof housing (12) which includes an interior chamber (14, 16) in which transmitter circuitry is located. Each of the actuators includes a movable magnet (52A, 52B) which operates a magnetic reed switch (62A, 62B) located within the interior chamber (14) of the housing (12) through a wall (17) of the housing (12). By moving the magnet (52A, 52B) the corresponding reed switch (62A, 62B) can be changed from a non-actuated to an actuated state. When the zero reed switch (62A) is actuated, the transmitter circuitry adjusts its output so that the present value of the parameter represents a process zero. When the span reed switch (62B) is actuated, the transmitter circuitry adjusts its output so that the present value of the sensed parameter represents a process maximum.

Abstract: A transmitter (10) provides an output representative of a parameter. A generating circuit (11) in the transmitter (10) senses the parameter (12) and provides charge packets having adjustable magnitudes to a measurement circuit (60). Abstract: A cell for sensing differential pressures has a single brittle material diaphragm (63, 93, 102) mounted on support plates (50, 75, 120, 130) positioned on opposite sides of the diaphragm (63, 93, 102). The diaphragm (63, 93, 102) may be shaped by placing it under a pressure so that it bows or deflects and then grinding the surface (43C, 77C) opposite from the applied pressure flat. When the pressure is removed, the diaphragm (63, 93, 102) relaxes and the exact required shape is produced on the surface (43C, 77C, 102A) that had been bowed out and ground flat. The same procedure can be done to the other side (102C) of the diaphragm (102) or two diaphragm sections (43, 43; 77, 77) may be fixed together.

Abstract: A differential pressure sensor (10) senses a difference in pressure between a first input (low) pressure (12) or "reference pressure" and a second input (high) pressure (14) and provides a differential sensor signal representative of the difference in pressure.
