    Abstract: PURPOSE:To correspondingly increase a recording data capacity by reducing the recording capacity of tracking information in a recording side. CONSTITUTION:A reproducing head HA within a pair of reproducing heads having a double azimouth structure and disposed in the vicinity of a rotary head reads a RF reproducing signal from a magnetic tape T. This RF signal is supplied to a LPF 4, a BPF 5 and a BPF 6 via a RF amplifier 2 and an equalizer 3. On the other hand, a RF reproducing signal read by a reproducing head HB within the pair of reproducing heads is supplied to a BPF 10 and a BPF 11 via a RF amplifier 8 and an equalizer 9. A determining circuit 7 determines the tracking positions of the heads HA and HB according to signals sent via the filters 4, 5, 6, 10 and 11. A capstan control circuit 8 controls the rotatry-driving of a capstan motor 10 via an amplifier 9 according to the determining result of the determining circuit 7.

CONSTITUTION:The bottom face of a cylindrical rotating drum 31 is sealed and a head window 34 attached with a head 33 is provided on the outer peripheral face in the vicinity of the bottom face. Further, air is sucked into the inside of the rotating drum 31 from the outside in accordance with the rotation of the rotating drum 31 by fins 11a-d provided integrally with the rotating drum 31, the sucked air is jetted from the head window 34. Negative pressure generating in the vicinity of the head window is cancelled by a jetting air flow (d), since the disturbance of the air film (a) and a tent shape (c) is corrected, smooth tape running and excellent head contact are realized and the damage of the tape 37 is prevented and simultaneously the damage, as well of the drum device is prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make the deflection of a laser beam minimum by attaching a 2nd holder so that its tilt can be adjusted to a 1st holder. CONSTITUTION:The 1st holder 5 is interposed between the 2nd holder 6 which supports a rotator prism 2 and an outside fixed housing 3, so that the tilt of the center of rotation of the prism 2 against the center of the rotation of a rotator can be adjusted in the longitudinal directions of the 1st and the 2nd holders 5 and 6. Furthermore, the housing 3 is attached to a base 1 so that its position can be freely adjusted. Therefore, the position of the center of the rotation of the prism 2 against the center of the rotation of the rotator is adjusted on the plane 1a of the base 1. Thus, the tilt of the center of the rotation and the position of the prism 2 against the center of the rotation of the rotator are easily and accurately adjusted, and the centers of the rotation of both of them are accurately and easily aligned, and the deflection of the laser beam is made minimum.

CONSTITUTION:If the film thickness of a recording layer is set to a film thickness value D which is adequate and free from the dependency of a recording layer on the film thickness and the film thickness of the recording layer E remaining at the bottom of a pit is E > A, in the recording layer containing a cyanine color as an optically absorptive color, the reflection factors of both the surface of the recording layer and the bottom of the pit will always be at the same value. Subsequently, the regeneration signal is prevented from becoming deteriorated due to variations of the reflection factor by setting the film thickness of the recording layer to the mentioned D. However, detecting the pit is performed in the phase difference mode based on light path differences between the pit part and the unrecorded part, since the reflection factor of the recording layer surface is equal to that of the pit bottom.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent an information recording surface from being deteriorated by forming a groove part whose width is narrower than that of an optical recording medium along the traveling direction of the optical recording medium and optically record or reproduce information on a part opposed to the groove part. CONSTITUTION:The groove part 24 whose width is narrower than that of the optical recording medium 7 is provided along the traveling direction of the medium 7 on the rubbing part of the medium 7 on a fixed drum 15 around which the medium 7 is wound. Hereupon, the medium 7 is an optical tape. The information is optically recorded or reproduced on the part opposed to the groove part 24 of the medium 7. Then, the information recording area 7C of the medium 7 does not come in contact with the drum 15 and the area 7C is prevented from being deteriorated by frictional flaw. Thus, the information is surely recorded or reproduced in spite of repeated recording and reproducing.

CONSTITUTION:A driving signal S1 whose frequency is changed like a saw tooth wave is supplied to an acoustooptical deflecting element 3 to generate an acoustic wave pattern, which advances in the prescribed direction in accordance with the elapse of time, in the acoustooptic deflecting element 3. A scanning light beam LA3 to which the emitted luminous flux of the acoustooptic deflecting element 3 is converged is obtained by the diffracting function of the acoustic wave pattern, and recording tracks on an optical recording medium are scanned by the scanning light beam LA3. Preparatory deflecting means 13-16 are provided which deflect an incident light beam LA5 made incident on the acoustooptic deflecting element 3 in accordance with the frequency (f) of the driving signal S1. Consequently, the degradation in diffraction efficiency is prevented to extend the driving band width of the driving signal S1. Thus, the incident light beam LA5 is efficiently used to obtain the scanning light beam LA3 having a large deflection angle.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify constitution as a whole, by separating a return light beam from an optical recording medium to an optical detector side by using the optical rotary polarization characteristic of an acoustic optical polarizing element. CONSTITUTION:An incident light beam LB1 emitted from a light source 11 is made incident on the acoustic optical polarizing element 3 consisting of an anisotropic Bragg diffraction element by transmitting a polarization type beam splitter 21. Thus, a scanning light beam LB3 obtained by the circulation of a polarizing plane from the said acoustic optical polarizing element 3 by its diffracting function can be obtained, and the scanning light beam LB3 is projected on the optical recording medium 1. And by reflecting obtained return light beam LB4 by the beam splitter 21 after transmitting through the acoustic polarizing element 3, it is derived to the optical detector 15. In such a way, it is not required to provide a dedicated optical element to circulate the polarizing plane of the light beam separately, then, an optical information processor with simple constitution can be obtained.
