SOLUTION: A backing fabric for tufted carpets having antimicrobial and mite-proof properties is obtained by carrying out a thermocompression bonding treatment or a needle punching treatment of a polyester-based filament web having 2-15d, preferably 3-8d fineness, then applying a polymeric resin binder thereto, subsequently applying a treating liquid containing a pyrethroid-based compound such as phenothrin or allethrin by a method for spraying, etc., subsequently drying the backing fabric and fixing the above pyrethroid-based compound in an amount of 0.001-1 wt.%, preferably 0.02-0.5 wt.% based on the constituent fibers thereto.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fiber structure simultaneously satisfying highly durable deodorizing, antibacterial, antimildew, and antisoiling functions by disposing a titanium/silicon composite oxide particle layer to the surface of a fiber structure consisting mainly of specific polyester-based fibers through a specific intermediate layer. SOLUTION: This fiber structure having functional properties is obtained by forming the layer of titanium/silicon composite oxide particles having a particle diameter of 1-20 nm and a specific surface area of 100-300 m2/g on the fiber surfaces of a fiber structure through an intermediate layer such as a titanium peroxide particle layer, a zeolite layer, a silicone- or fluorine-based resin-fixed zeolite layer or an alkyl silicate layer. The fiber structure contains >=50 wt.% of polyester-based fibers which contains inactive titanium dioxide in an amount of 0.3-5 wt.% and has a modified cross section coefficient of 1.2-2. The titanium/silicon composite oxide particles are adhered to the fiber surfaces in an amount of 0.1-30 wt.% based on the fiber structure.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a deodorizing fiber structure having both a deodorizing property and an odorization-preventing property which act quickly and persistently, by fixing a photocatalyst semiconductor to the surface of an acidic group- introduced polyamide-based fiber and/or an acidic group-introduced polyester- based fiber through a specific layer. SOLUTION: This fiber structure is obtained by fixing photocatalyst semiconductor particles comprising a Ti/Si composite oxide and having a particle diameter of 1-20 nm and a specific surface area of 100-300 m2/g to the surface of a polyamide-based fiber and/or a polyester-based fiber through at least one layer selected from an amorphous titanium peroxide particle layer, a zeolite layer and an alkyl silicate layer by the use of a silicone-based resin or a fluorine-based resin in an amount of 0.1-30 wt.% based on the fiber. The polyamide-based fiber and/or the polyester-based fiber have 1.16×10-5 to 1.16×10-2 g equivalent/g of acidic groups such as carboxyl groups or sulfonic acid groups whose hydrogen atoms are replaced by at least one kind of metal ions selected from Zn2+, Cu2+, Ni+, Mn2+, Ag+ and Fe2+. The acidic groups are introduced by a graft polymerization method.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a processed yarn capable of producing hollow fiber having a high hollow ratio through the elution of a swelling polymer at an excellent false twist processability by specifying weight ratio of a core part consisting of the swelling polymer and a sheath part consisting of a polyester polymer. SOLUTION: A core-sheath type conjugate fiber, having a weight ratio of a core part consisting of a swelling polymer of >=100% in a hot water swelling ratio to a sheath part consisting of a polyester polymer of 20/80 to 50/50, is processed by false twisting. A false twist yarn, whose cross section is hardly broken even by the compressed stress affecting the yarn during false twisting and which has a stretch recovery ratio of 15-35%, is easily obtained, and hollow part is formed when the swelling polymer is eluted with alkaline hot water.
