    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a desired surface form capable of suppressing the formation of voids, capable of densely forming hardly cut surface projections and enhanced in surface running durability. CONSTITUTION:A polyester film is a biaxially oriented film based on polyester A and characterized by that the number of projections of at least one surface thereof is 5X10 /mm or more and the ratio (NR) of the number of projections/ the number of particles being the ratio of the number of projections and the number of the particles contained in the surface layer on the film is 5 or more and the average height of projections is 0.01-0.8mum.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a laminated film adapted to be used for a magnetic tape in which polyester A layers laminated on both side surfaces of a polyester B layer can be formed of the same polyester A and simultaneously front and rear surfaces can be formed of surface states having desired cutting resistances, image quality, etc. CONSTITUTION:A laminated film comprises A layers each containing polyester A as a main ingredient and laminated on both side surfaces of a B layer containing polyester B as a main ingredient, wherein A1 of surface roughness of the one A layer is 0.2-20nm and A2 of surface roughness of the other A layer is 5-50nm, and A1 is smaller than A2, and a method for manufacturing the same is provided.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve traveling properties and protrusion breaking strength, to improve adhesiveness with a magnetic layer and to reduce a decrease in picture quality of a biaxially oriented laminated film by forming the film in a laminated structure of three or more layers, incorporating special particles in an outermost layer of its one side surface, and simultaneously processing means such as specifying crystallinity of the outermost layer. CONSTITUTION:A biaxially oriented laminated film is formed of a laminated structure of at least three or more layers. In this case, particles are contained at least in an outermost layer of its one side surface of the film. The relationship between a mean particle size (d) (mum) of the particle and a thickness(t) of the outermost layer is so set as to satisfy 0.2d -2X10 /mm . Further, the outermost layer of at least one side surface is set to lower crystallinity than that of an intermediate layer. Thus, fine protrusions on the surface of the film are optimized to improve traveling properties and protrusion breaking strength, adhesiveness with a magnetic layer at the time of using it as a magnetic medium is improved, and a decrease in picture quality is reduced.
