    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject woven fabric, excellent in drapeability and passableness along curved surfaces at the time of deep drawing forming by stretch-breaking a carbon fiber multifilament yarn, providing a staple bundle, covering the resultant staple bundle with a covering yarn, making the covered yarn useful as a yarn for a woven fabric and weaving the yarn at a specific weaving density. SOLUTION: This woven fabric is produced by stretch-breaking a carbon fiber multifilament yarn, thereby providing a carbon fiber staple bundle having =10 yarns/cm and weaving the yarn. The produced objective thin and lightweight fabric is favorable for use as a sheet of a hybrid material and has a high-class feeling.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a sliver efficiently in one step, by charging raw cotton composed of short fibers in a hopper, drafting with a drafting device, and collecting in a can with a coiling device. CONSTITUTION:A well-opened and separated raw cotton 1 composed of short fibers is charged by the belt conveyor 2 into the hopper 8 consisting of a pair of aprons 3, and stored temporarily. The stored cotton is discharged continuously from the hopper through the bottom outlet port 9 to the drafting part 4, and drafted to form a fiber bundle 5 wherein the fibers are interlocked with each other. The fiber bundle 5 is collected in the can 7 with the coiling device 6 to obtain the objective sliver. Preferably, the outlet port of the hopper is attached to the bottom of the hopper, and is provided with a metering delivery function.
