Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a stable uncoated portion of the end part of a running web to make it possible to certainly grasp the end part of the web in a next process to feed the web and to stably produce a web-like article of high quality free from a scattering defect to a coating soln. SOLUTION: A web coating apparatus has a coating roll 3 arranged so that the rotary axis direction thereof is substantially right-angled to the running direction of a web 1 and web position regulating rolls arranged on the upstream and downstream sides of the coating roll at least one by one so as to hold the web therebetween. In this case, the downstream web position regulating roll has a roll diameter change part 15 of which the central part becomes a larger diameter at the portion shorter than the width of the web of the roll 4 and web end passing position regulating means 5, 6 are arranged just before the upstream side of the roll 4 and/or just after the downstream side thereof.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an adherence or a deposition of a deteriorated polymer or a low molecular weight material to or on a head lip by providing a layer containing a photocatalyst on a lower surface of a lip of at least a head. SOLUTION: A slit 4 to become a resin extrusion passage is formed at a head 1 via lips 2, 3. A slit interval regulating bolt 5 is arranged at the one lip 3. Photocatalyst containing layers 6 are provided on lower surfaces of the lips 2, 3. Thus, the head is formed to provide a layer containing a photocatalyst on a surface layer of the head lip. Accordingly, at the time of extruding a thermoplastic resin, an adherence or a deposition of a deteriorated polymer, a low molecular weight material or the like to or on the head lip can be suppressed. For example, in the case of molding a film, a thickness unevenness of a lateral direction is reduced, and a number of faults is decreased, thereby upgrading a quality of a product.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the thickness spots of an applied resin layer small by grasping the coating agent drying state of a resin film continuously immediately after the passage of a drying process and before a drawing process and doing feedback of the information to the heating of the drying process. SOLUTION: A thermometer 21 for measuring the temperature of a film is installed between a preliminary heating/drying process and a drawing process. The temperature of a monoaxially drawn film 7 which is dried preliminarily by nozzles 16a, 16b and coated with a coating agent is measured by the thermometer 21 before being subjected to width direction drawing. By film temperature measurement by the thermometer 21, a coating agent drying state is grasped, and a detected value signal by the thermometer 21 is sent to an operation apparatus 22, compared with a preset temperature, and judged whether a film temperature reaches a prescribed temperature or not. Information based on the judgement is sent to a controller 23, and heating in the preliminary heating/drying process is controlled on the basis of output from the controller 23.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the uneven sheet thickness due to the vibration of a sheet spreading between a mouth piece and a moving cooling body by a method wherein the voltage output, which is applied by a high-voltage generator to a discharge electrode, is variably controlled in response to the vibratory displacement of the thermoplastic resin sheet spreading between the mouth piece and the moving cooling body. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic resin sheet 2, which is melt-extruded from a mouth piece 1, is cooled and solidified by being brought into contact with a moving cooling body (or cooling roller) 3 and, after that, continuously sent through a separating roller 4 to a post-treatment process. A discharge electrode 8 is held at high potential by being applied with high-voltage generated by a high-voltage generator 5. The vibratory displacement of the thermoplastic resin sheet 2 spreading between the mouth piece 1 and the cooling roller 3 is monitored with a laser Doppler type vibrometer 6 so as to send displacement signals to a control device 7. The control device 7 sends control signals, which control high-voltage output so as to suppress the displacements against the sent displacement signals, to the high-voltage generator 5. The potential of the discharge electrode is variably controlled as mentioned above.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the uneven thickness developed by voltage fluctuation by a method wherein the waveform and phase of voltage output, which is applied by a high-voltage generator to a discharge electrode, are variably controlled in synchronization with the change of delivery of thermoplastic polymer. CONSTITUTION:Polymer, which is melt-extruded from an extruder 1, is metered and sent by a gear pump 2 to a mouth piece 3. A discharge electrode 10 is held at high potential by being applied with high-voltage generated by a high- voltage generator 7. The change in the pressure of molten polymer is monitored with a pressure gage 8 so as to send monitored change waveform signal to an analyzer 9 in order to analyze and to express the signal in terms of the sum of a plurality of sinusoidal waves. Control signals generating potential change to apply periodic waveforms, the frequencies and amplitudes of which are equal to and the phases of which are shifted at 180 degrees to each of split up sinusoidal waves, are sent from the analyzer 9 to the high-voltage generator 7 in order to variably control the potential of the discharge electrode 10 as mentioned above.
