    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title yarn retaining a cross section in undrawn yarn and having good crimp characteristics by subjecting a polyester-based undrawn yarn having a modified cross section to drawing and false twisting in specific conditions and winding up the yarn in a low tension and applying a specific treatment to winding-up cheese. CONSTITUTION:A polyester-based undrawn yarn consisting of a filament having a modified cross-section is subjected to drawing and false twisting in such a state that processing temperature HT ( deg.C) and twist number T (t/m) satisfy formulas I II [D is fineness after false twisting; UYTg is glass transition temperature ( deg.C) of undrawn yarn] and the resultant false twisting yarn is wound up in =24hr to provide the objective yarn. Furthermore, the polyester preferably contains >=80mol% ethylene terephthalate. For the false twisting, a false twisting system of friction type is preferable.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the subject combined filament yarn excellent in strength and abrasion resistance of a knit or a woven fabric, decolorable and redyeable and suitable for high-class clothes uses by combining filaments of a conjugated fiber of a polyester dissolving under degumming conditions of silk and a polyester without dissolving under the same conditions with a silk continuous filament. CONSTITUTION: (A) A polyester A dissolving under degumming conditions of silk (e.g. a soap soda method) (e.g. a copolymer of ethylene terephthalate unit with preferably 10-50 wt.% of adipic acid, etc.), and (B) a polyester B, preferably of the type dyeable with a disperse dye without dissolving under the same conditions (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate copolymerized with 5-20 wt.% of phthalic acid) are formed into a conjugated fiber, e.g. a core-sheath type or an island-in-sea type. For example, the doubling or doubling and twisting of the conjugated fiber with (C) a bave of a silk continuous filament are carried out to afford the objective combined filament yarn.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of staining on the peripheries of discharge holes of a spinneret, by melting a polyester polymer containing titanium oxide to give an apparent viscosity of a specific value or above and discharging the resultant melt through a spinneret electrically insulated from the adjacent members. CONSTITUTION:A polyester polymer, e.g. polybutylene terephthalate, containing titanium oxide is melt spun. In the process, a spinneret is electrically insulated from the adjacent members thereof and the apparent viscosity of the melt in passing through discharge holes of the spinneret is adjusted to >=500 P, preferably 600-3,000 P. The spinneret 1 is electrically insulated by providing seals 3 and 3' consisting of an insulator on and under the spinneret 1.
