Abstract:
A fluorescence image acquisition system is a system generating a fluorescence image by imaging fluorescence emitted from an observation object, the system including a light emitting device for iterating an output and stoppage of excitation light by emitting the excitation light toward the observation object during an ON period and stopping the emission of the excitation light during an OFF period, an imaging device having a light receiving unit including a plurality of pixels two-dimensionally arranged and an exposure control unit for controlling an exposure of the light receiving unit, and for outputting ON image data and OFF image data by capturing image of the observation object during each of the ON period and the OFF period, and a camera controller for generating fluorescence image data and setting an exposure time of the light receiving unit on the basis of the ON image data and the OFF image data.
Abstract:
A system including a light source, sampling tray, and at least three detectors mounted at angles with respect to each other receives light reflected from a sample of cannabis-based matter. Light from the three detectors is fed to a spectrometer which converts the reflected light into a fingerprint corresponding to the concentration of at least one substance in the sample. The fingerprint is processed by a statistical model to determine concentration level of the at least one substance in the sample and the concentration level is then displayed.
Abstract:
Inspecting a retaining ring of a dynamoelectric machine includes placing an optical device in a stationary component of the dynamoelectric machine and directing the optical device toward a radial view of the retaining ring. An image is obtained and transmitted of a circumferential portion of the retaining ring, using the optical device during rotation of the rotor. Identification is made of a location of one or more stress cracks forming and visible at the circumferential portion of the annular edge. Further, a structural condition is determined for at least one location on the retaining ring using a metric to identify a value of the metric exceeding a predetermined acceptable value of the metric.
Abstract:
A method and device for enhancing the power correction of optical measurements in an optical measurement arrangement, the steps including: providing a light source for producing a light beam; splitting the light beam into two beams; directing a first split light beam through an interrogation area and into an optics separation device; directing the light beams from the optics separation device and a second split light beam representing the intensity of the illumination of the main light beam of the light source into cells of a detector array; measuring and assessing the information obtained in the cells; and using this information to calculate the corrected value for the cells receiving the light beams from the optics separation device in order to adjust the power for the intensity of the light beam of the light source and/or to correct the intensity of the light beams from the interrogation area.
Abstract:
A cartridge and cartridge system for use in an apparatus for analyzing a sample are provided. The system has a plurality of cartridges for different applications for a multimode instrument. The cartridges are removably engaged with a cartridge support of the apparatus in a “plug-in” format such that one cartridge may be removed from the apparatus and another cartridge may be easily installed. The cartridge support includes a plurality of cartridge positions that receive cartridges concurrently. One of the cartridges may be a luminescence cartridge that includes an integrated detector that is movable toward and away from a sample carrier of the apparatus, and thus toward and away from a sample located at the sample carrier.

A cartridge and cartridge system for use in an apparatus for analyzing a sample is provided. The cartridge has one or more light sources and/or optical systems and other components that are specific for a certain type of application such as fluorescence, absorbance, or luminescence. The light source, optical systems, and other components for a specific application are housed in a single cartridge. The system has a plurality of cartridges for different applications for a multimode instrument. The cartridges are removably engaged with the apparatus in a “plug-in” format such that one cartridge may be removed from the apparatus and another cartridge may be easily installed.
Abstract:
A method of modulating an infrared radiation (IR) source that includes applying a time-varying, periodic voltage signal to the IR source, measuring a parameter of the voltage signal, and adjusting the voltage signal to maintain a substantially constant delivered power to the IR source. Adjusting the voltage signal is done based on the measured parameter and a predetermined relationship between the measured parameter of the voltage pulse and a resistance of such an infrared radiation source. Alternatively, the method includes applying a the voltage pulse, measuring a first parameter of the voltage pulse and a second parameter of a current passing through the infrared radiation source resulting from the applying step, and adjusting the voltage pulse to maintain a substantially constant delivered power to the infrared radiation source based on the first parameter and the second parameter.
