Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of a polyester as an elastomer component for gum bases. The application also relates to a method of making gum bases which comprise such polyesters. The polyester comprises as polyester-forming components in condensed form a) at least one aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, b) at least one aliphatic diol and c) at least one compound having at least three groups capable of ester formation in an amount of from 0.1 to 10.0 % by weight, based on the total weight of the polyester,
wherein the polyester comprises the components a) and b) in an amount of at least 90, in particular at least 95 % by weight, based on the total weight of the polyester.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a packaged confectionary product comprising a biodegradable chewing gum composition and a package assembly forming a humidity barrier to the biodegradable chewing gum composition (11; 21; 31; 41). According to an embodiment of the invention significant reduction of pre- degradation of gum polymers may be obtained if the confectionary product is encapsulated within a package assembly which comprises a humidity barrier to the chewing gum composition contained in the package.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to confectionary compositions comprising one or more encapsulation delivery systems containing high intensity sweeteners and natural resins. The invention furthermore relates to the encapsulation delivery system as such as well as to methods of preparing the encapsulation delivery system and the confectionary composition.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a chewing gum tablet (20) comprising at least two cohered chewing gum modules (21, 22, 23), said tableted chewing gum being formed by compression of chewing gum granules, at least one of said chewing gum modules comprising gum base granules, said gum base granules comprising an elastomer system, said chewing gum tablet comprising an elastomer system in an amount of at least 10% by weight of the tablet. According to the invention, a compressed chewing gum tablet has been obtained featuring extremely impressing abilities of incorporating well-defined amounts of chewing gum ingredients combined with acceptable rheological properties of the compete tablet.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a chewing gum tablet (10, 20, 30, 40, 50) comprising at least two separate cohered chewing gum modules (11, 12; 21, 22, 23; 31, 32; 41, 42; 51, 52) at least one of said chewing gum modules comprising compressed gum base containing chewing gum granules, wherein the chewing gum tablet comprises a gum base content of at least 5% by weight of the tablet, and wherein at least one of said chewing gum modules comprises one or more active ingredients.
Abstract:
The invention relates to compressed chewing gum tablet (37) comprising a chewing gum center (38), said gum center (38) comprising a compression of gum base granules (32) and chewing gum additives (33), said chewing gum additives comprising sweeteners and flavors, at least a first part of said gum base granules (32) comprising granules of flavor incorporated gum base. At least a second part of said gum base granules (32) comprising granules of conventional gum base.
Abstract:
The invention relates to chewing gum comprising at least two different biodegradable polymers. According to the invention, a chewing gum comprising at least two different biodegradable polymers exhibits an improved texture prior to any adding of for example softeners. It has been realized that the desired chewing gum texture properties, contrary to every expectation and any prior art disclosures, may actually be obtained when combining biodegradable chewing gum polymers, for example in the gum base or in the final gum.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a chewing gum comprising at least one biodegradable polymer, wherein the molecular weight of said polymer is at least 105000 g/mol (Mn). According to the invention, it has moreover been realized that this problem may be effectively dealt with by increasing the molecular weight of at least one of the biodegradable polymers in the chewing gum when compared to conventional chewing gum polymers and thereby increasing the robustness of the chewing gum with respect to softeners, emulsifiers and e.g. flavor.
