    Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus has a cyclone bin assembly having a cyclone chamber. The cyclone chamber with a physical filtration member defining the cyclone air outlet. The physical filtration member extends from the cyclone air inlet end of the cyclone chamber towards an openable bottom end of the cyclone chamber. The physical filtration member comprises a conical section which decreases in diameter towards the openable bottom end of the cyclone chamber, wherein a projection of the conical section meets at a location that is positioned between the physical filtration member and the openable opposed end. An openable bottom end of the cyclone bin assembly and the openable bottom end of the cyclone chamber are openable concurrently.

    Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus has a floor cleaning unit comprising a surface cleaning head and a handle drivingly connected thereto. A surface cleaning unit is removably mounted to the floor cleaning unit. The surface cleaning unit comprises a cyclone having an axially extending outlet conduit, a pre-motor filter positioned in the air flow passage downstream from the outlet conduit, and a suction motor downstream from the pre-motor filter. A first air flow path portion that extends from the outlet conduit to the suction motor is generally linear. A second air flow path portion that comprises a flexible conduit provides air flow communication between the surface cleaning head and the surface cleaning unit when the surface cleaning unit is mounted to the floor cleaning unit. The flexible conduit is removable with the surface cleaning unit when the surface cleaning unit is removed from the floor cleaning unit. The cyclone is positioned above the suction motor when the surface cleaning unit is mounted to the floor cleaning unit.

    Abstract: A vacuum cleaner has an upstream cyclone cleaning stage and downstream cyclone cleaning stage comprising a plurality of downstream cyclones in parallel and positioned in the air flow path downstream of the upstream cyclone cleaning stage. Each of the downstream cyclones has an upper end and a lower end, the upper end having a cyclone air inlet and a cyclone air outlet. The downstream cyclones are arranged around a central opening and a plurality of air flow openings are provided in the bottom of the downstream cyclone cleaning stage whereby air travels from the openings to the cyclone air inlets at the upper end of the downstream cyclones and air enters the central opening after exiting the downstream cyclones.
