Abstract: An image forming apparatus is provided to form images with high quality using a various kinds of printing media by employing a means for making electrical characteristics of the printing media uniform. An image forming apparatus includes a paper-feeding unit, an image forming and transferring unit, and an antistatic unit(30). The paper-feeding unit provides a printing medium. The image forming and transferring unit forms an image and transfers the image to the printing medium provided by the paper-feeding unit. The antistatic unit is located between the paper-feeding unit and the image forming and transferring unit and makes the resistance of the printing medium uniform. The antistatic unit includes a storage member(31) for storing an antistatic agent, and a supply unit for supplying the antistatic agent to the printing medium. The supply unit(32) includes a nozzle(33) for jetting the antistatic agent stored in the storage member, and a coating member(34) for coating the antistatic agent jetted from the nozzle on the printing medium.
