Abstract: A method for automatically switching standards of a terminal supporting multi DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld) standard is provided to provide a DVB-H standard conversion within a daily life range of a user stably and flexibly by managing an IP(Internet Protocol) platform ID and standard mapping information. When a DVB-H service is started by a user, a terminal analyzes PSI/SI(Program Specific Information/Service Information)(400), and checks whether configuration of a DVB-H network has been changed(405). If the configuration of the DVB-H network has been changed, the terminal acquires a list of IP platform IDs received from the changed DVB-H network(410). The terminal checks whether an ID of a currently selected IP platform is in a database storing a mapping table(415). If the ID of the currently selected IP platform is not in the database, the terminal requests a boot strap with a well-known IP of each standard(420). When packets are received according to the request for boot strap, the terminal checks whether the received packets are boot strap(425). If the received packets are the boot strap, the terminal stores mapping information of the IP platform ID and standard in the database(430) and analyzes the received boot strap(435).
