    Abstract: A velocity control apparatus and velocity control method of a vehicle are provided to compel a driver to fasten a seat belt through preventing the vehicle speed from exceeding a velocity restriction when driver does not fasten a seat belt and permitting the vehicle to run at a parking lot even when the driver does not fasten the seat belt. A velocity control apparatus comprises a sensor(30) for determining whether a seat belt is fastened or not, an engine electronic control unit(50), and a safety traveling electronic control unit(10). The determination sensor determines whether a seat belt(91) installed on a seat(90) is fastened or not and outputs a sensing value corresponding to the detected result to the safety traveling electronic control unit. The safety traveling electronic control unit includes a sensing value receiver portion, a velocity information receiver portion, a condition storing portion, and a traveling control portion. The sensing value receiver portion receives an information whether the seat belt is fastened or not, which is output from the determination sensor.

    Abstract: A system and a method for controlling a FlexRay and RS(Recommended Standard)-232 are provided to make data communication between different communication protocols by converting data received in a FlexRay communication mode into an RS-232 data frame and converting the data received in the RS-232 communication mode into a FlexRay data frame. An RS-232 communicator(20) supports the data communication with external RS-232 devices. A FlexRay communicator(30) supports the data communication with the external FlexRay. A gateway(40) supports data interconnection between the different communication protocols used in the RS-232 and FlexRay communicator. The gateway includes an RS-232 transceiver relating RS-232 type data, an RS-232 buffer storing the RS-232 type data, a data converter converting the data into another protocol by extracting data information from the data frame received from one protocol, a FlexRay buffer storing FlexRay type data, and a FlexRay transceiver relaying the FlexRay type data. The data information includes at least one payload data and payload data length information.
