Refrigerant having passed the oil separator is discharged through an outlet tube(62) to a condenser(50). A bypass pipe(63) is installed between the inlet tube and the outlet tube and has control valves(81,82) installed on crossing portions thereof, respectively, to selectively switch directions of passages by operation of an ECU(Electronic Control Unit).

    Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for sensing refrigerant pressure for vehicle air conditioner is provided to allow a driver to easily and conveniently perceive abnormality of refrigerant pressure by an alarm lamp or sound. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus includes a cooling circuit where a compressor(1), a condenser(2), an expansion valve(3) and an evaporator(4) are connected in serial through a pipe(5). A pressure sensing unit(7) for sensing the refrigerant pressure of the pipe, is mounted at the pipe between a receiver dryer(6) and the expansion valve which are installed at the outlet side of the condenser. The pressure sensing unit has an alarm member(8) which is connected to the pressure sensing unit so as to operate when the refrigerant pressure is lower than a predetermined level. The pressure sensing unit has a switch(9) which is mounted within the pressure sensing unit and connected through a cable(10), and an end of the cable is connected to the alarm member. As the alarm member, an alarm lamp(16) or buzz is mounted at the gauge board so as to alarm a driver when the refrigerant pressure is lower than a predetermined level.
