    Abstract: PURPOSE: An airbag is provided to avoid the phenomenon of blowing a passenger's face due to inflation of airbag and to prevent the passenger's neck from being injured by dividing an inner space of the airbag into a primary deployment space and a secondary deployment space and by causing the secondary deployment space corresponding to the passenger's face not to be shocked at the beginning of deployment of the airbag. CONSTITUTION: An airbag comprises an inflator(1), an outer shell(2), tethers(3,4) and an inner shell(5). The outer shell(2) is inflated by a powder explosion within the inflator(1). The tethers(3,4) sustain a longitudinal shape of the outer shell in deployment of the airbag. The inner shell(5) is provided within the outer shell(2). The inner shell(5) divides the inner space of the outer shell(2) into a primary deployment space(8) and a secondary deployment space(9) for protecting a driver's face. Air inlets(5a,5b) are formed in the inner shell(5).
