    Abstract: PURPOSE:To economically obtain the subject substance useful as a synthetic intermediate for surfactants, agricultural chemicals, medicaments, etc., X-ray contrast media, fluorocarbon-based fire extinguishers, etc., in high yield by thermally reacting a perfluorocarboxylic acid fluoride with LiBr. CONSTITUTION:A compound expressed by formula I (Rf is perfluorohydrocarbon group; (n) is 1-3) is reacted with LiBr at >=300 deg.C (preferably 320 to 400 deg.C) to afford a compound expressed by formula II ((m) is 1-3 and (n)>=(m)). The LiBr is preferably anhydrous and the amount thereof used is selected from the range of 1.2 to 1.5mol if the compound expressed by formula I is a monobasic acid, 2.5 to 3.0mol in the case of a dibasic acid and 3.5 to 4.0mol in the case of a tribasic acid. In the case of the dibasic and tribasic acids, only a part of the fluorocarbonyl groups can be substituted with Br by selecting the molar ratio to the LiBr. The compounds expressed by formula I are readily available and the above-mentioned method is advantageous.

    Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R1, R2 are 1-5C perfluoroalkyl, may form 5-7-membered heterocycle together with N atom binding them). EXAMPLE:Perfluoro(3-dimethylaminoisobutyryl) fluoride. USE:A synthetic intermediate of fluorine-containing products such as surface active agent, agrochemicals, medicines or monomers for fluorine-containing polymers. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I is obtained by electrolyzing a readily available reactive derivative of 3-disubstituted aminoisobutyric acid of formula II (R1', R2' are 1-5C alkyl, may form 5-membered ring together with N atom) in liquid hydrogen fluoride. The process according to the present invention resists to the formation of cyclic products by side-reactions, causes no drastic C-N bond fission, thus resulting in high-yield formation of the compound of formula I.

    Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:Perfluoro(N,N'-divinylpiperazine) expressed by formula I. USE:Useful as a synthetic intermediate for fluorine-containing products, e.g. surfactants, agricultural chemicals, medicines, etc., and raw material for producing fluorine-containing plastics, etc. PREPARATION:A perfluoro compound expressed by formula II (X is F, OCF3 or OM; M is alkali metal or alkaline earth metal corresponding to monovalence) is heat-treated within 100-500 deg.C, preferably 100-300 deg.C temperature range normally within 10sec-2hr range, preferably under atmospheric pressure or reduced pressure to give the aimed compound expressed by formula I. The above-mentioned thermal decomposition reaction may be carried out by using an inert gas, e.g. nitrogen or helium, or an aprotic liquid compound, e.g. polyether, as a diluent. For example, the compound expressed by formula II is obtained by electrolytically fluorinating a reactive derivative of piperazine-N, N-di-alpha-propionic acid in liquid hydrogen fluoride.

CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of formula IV (which is novel compound excluding the compounds of formula II and formula III) can be produced from the compound of formula I in high yield with extremely simple process, by heating the compound of formula I [A is chemical bond, CF2, O or NR (R is perfluoroalkyl); X is F, perfluoroalkoxy or OM (M is alkali metal or alkaline earth metal corresponding to univalent state)] at 100-500 deg.C, preferably 100-300 deg.C. The starting compound of formula I can be produced easily e.g. by the electrolytic fluorination of the ester or halide of the compound of formula V [A' is chemical bond, CF2, O or NR' (R' is alkyl)].

CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of formula II can be produced by heating the perfluoro-compound of formula I (X is F or OM; M is univalent alkali metal or alkaline earth metal ion) at 100-500 deg.C. The perfluoro-compound of formula I, e.g. perfluoro(2-dimethylaminopropionyl) fluoride can be produced easily e.g. by the electrolytic fluorination of a reactive derivative of 2- dimethylaminopropionic acid in liquid hydrogen fluoride. The thermal decomposition may be carried out either under reduced pressure or positive pressure. It is essential to use the reaction raw materials in anhydrous state.
