    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound useful as an intermediate for synthesizing detergents, water-repellents, lubricants, liquid crystal materials and the like by allowing an organic phosphorous compound to act on a perfluorocarboxylic acid. SOLUTION: This method for producing a perfluorocarbxylic acid halide comprises reacting an organic phosphorus compound of the formula: X2 PR3 [X is F, chlorine, bromine, iodine; R is a linear or cyclic alkyl, a (substituted) aryl, an aralkyl] with a perfluorocarboxylic acid preferably represented by the formula: RfCOOH [Rf is a 1-20C perfluoroalkyl which may be substituted by a substitutent having a perfluorocyclic structure containing one or more heterogeneous atoms such as 0 and F1 preferably in an equivalent ratio of (2-3):1 in a solvent (e.g. benzene, toluene or ether) or in the absence of the solvent preferably at 110-170 deg.C. Since a by-product is not produced, the purification of the product is unnecessary, and the reaction is carried out under vacuum.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more simply obtain the subject compound that is useful as a detergent, a water repellent, a lubricant or a liquid crystal through a simple process by direct addition reaction of a perfluorocarboxylic acid to an olefin under heating in the absence of solvent. SOLUTION: One equivalent amount of a perfluoro group-bearing carboxylic acid of the formula: RfCO2 H [Rf is a (substituted) 1-20 perfluoroalkyl] and 1-6 equivalent amount, 3-4 equivalent amount of an olefin of the formula: CHR =CHR [R is H, a 1-5C alkyl; R is a (substituted) 1-20C alkyl] as octene-1 are heated without solvent at 80-180 deg.C, preferably at 120-160 deg.C to effect their regio-selective addition reaction thereby giving the objective compound such as 2-octyl perfluoromorpholinoacetate in high yield through a simpler process.

CONSTITUTION: A brominated perfluorocarbon of formula I [R is a (Br- substituted) 2-5C perfluoroalkyl; R is a 2-5C perfluoroalkyl, a 5 to 7-membered ring structure integrated with a group of formula II, preferably a ring of formula III; A is a group of the formula (CF2 )n ((n) is an integer of 3-5) or formula IV (R and R are each F or a 1-3C perfluoroalkyl; R is F or Br)] such as a compound having a structural formula of formula V. The compound of formula I, for example, is obtained by electrolytically fluorinating a raw material and brominating in the case of a monobromide derivative.

    Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:Perfluoroalkane sulfonyl fluoride iodide expressed by formula I (n is 2-5). EXAMPLE:1-tetrafluoroethane sulfonyl fluoride iodide. USE:Useful as a synthetic intermediate of surfactant, agricultural chemical, medical drug or a fluorine-containing product such as fluorine-based ionomer, or a raw material for iodine optical dissociation laser, etc. PREPARATION:Perfluorocarboxylic acid fluoride expressed by formula II is reacted with lithium iodide at 100-300 deg.C, preferably 150-230 deg.C to afford the compound expressed by formula I. Said lithium iodide is preferably anhydride and using amount of said lithium iodide is preferably stoichiometric amount or a little excess amount of the stoichiometric amount. Besides, e.g. omega-(fluorosulfonyl) perfluorocarboxylic acid fluoride or perfluoro-beta-sultone is used as a starting raw material.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject, compound in high yield by heating an acid iodide of a perfluorocarboxylic acid in a state thereof kept in contact with a specific metal and carrying out a decarbonylating reaction. SOLUTION: (A) An acid iodide of a perfluorocarboxylic acid represented preferably by the formula RfCOI (Rf is a perfluoroalkyl which may have a perfluoro cyclic substitution group containing a heteroatom as a ring constituent atom) is heated in a state thereof kept in contact with (B) a zero-valent metal having preferably 1-500 μm average particle diameter (e.g. copper or nickel) to carry out a decarbonylating reaction. In the above reaction, the component B is preferably used in an amount of 0.01-2 mol based on 1 mol of the component A. The reactional temperature is preferably 80-160 deg.C. The objective perfluoroalkyl iodide is not only utilized as a reagent for introducing the perfluoroalkyl group by itself but also useful as a synthetic intermediate for surfactants, medicines and agrochemicals.
