Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a uniform, transparent and stable gold or silver organosol, by mixing a alkylpyridinium salt type surfactant and alkali metal borohydride in an aqueous solution and acting an aqueous gold or silver salt solution on the resulting mixture. CONSTITUTION:An alkylpyridinium salt type surfactant and alkali metal borohydride are mixed in an aqueous solution and a gold or silver salt is made to act on the resulting mixture to form a gold or silver hydrosol. Subsequently, an water-soluble metal salt is added to the hydrosol or an org. solvent is added to the solid obtained by allowing the hydrosol to be evaporated to dryness to obtain a gold or silver organosol. As the gold or silver salt, gold (III) chloride or silver nitrate is pref. and used in such a range that the concn. of gold or silver in the hydrogel is 0.1-5mg atom/l.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the adhesion and magnetic characteristics of a metal deposited on a film by plating by etching the film with an aqueous soln. of an alkali metallic hydroxide, sticking palladium colloid to the surface of the film by a prescribed method and carrying out plating. CONSTITUTION:A polyethylene terephthalate film is etched with an aqueous soln. of an alkali metallic hydroxide. The etched film is immersed in palladium hydrosol contg. a cationic surfactant to stick palladium colloid to the surface of the film. A ferromagnetic metallic film is then formed on the surface of the film by chemical plating in a magnetic field.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a metallic film having superior adhesion by plating with high reproducibility by etching and pretreating a molded body of polyethylene terephthalate and immersing it in palladium hydrosol contg. an anionic surfactant. CONSTITUTION:A molded body of polyethylene terephthalate is etched by immersion in an aqueous soln. of an alkali metallic hydride. The molded body is immersed in an aqueous soln. of a cationic surfactant or metallic hydroxide hydrosol. The pretreated molded body is immersed in palladium hydrosol contg. one or more kinds of compounds selected among anionic surfactants, nonionic surfactants and water soluble polymers such as polyvinylpyrrolidone to stick palladium colloid to the surface of the molded body. The palladium hydrosol contains no impurities, has stability for a long period and forms palladium colloid having high catalytic activity. The treated molded body is chemically plated. A metallic film having superior adhesion is simply formed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the content of an iron component in a catalyst and eliminate the need for treating the whole amount of coal, by liquefying a coal by hydrogenation in the presence of a specific supported iron sulfide colloid catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A sulfate or chloride of iron (II) or iron (III) and a sulfide of an alkali metal, such as Na2S, are mixed in a molar ratio of 4-1 in water to obtain an iron sulfide hydrogel having an iron concentration of 5mmol/l or less. 5-20-fold amount of an inorganic compound which is slightly soluble ion water (e.g. CaCO3) is added to and contacted with the hydrogel at 0-60 deg.C to support the iron sulfate colloid on the inorganic compound. The product is dried at 40-100 deg.C in vacuo to obtain a supported iron sulfate colloid catalyst. 98-80wt% coal is mixed with 2-20wt% catalyst an liquefied by hydrogenation at 350-500 deg.C for 30-90min under a hydrogen pressure of 150-300kg/cm .
