Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled novel compound which is soluble in water at a low temperature region and reversibly converted to a state insoluble in water at a high-temperature region, and suitable as a light-shielding material for high-temperature chamber, a temperature sensor, an adsorbent for a surfactant, a toy, etc., by carrying out radical polymerization of a specific vinyl compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound composed of the recurring unit of formula II and having a mol.wt. corresponding to an intrinsic viscosity [eta]of 0.01-6.0 measured as THF solution at 27 deg.C is produced by radical polymerization of an N-methoxyethoxypropyl (meth)acrylamide of formula I (R is H or methyl). The compound of formula I used as a starting raw material is a novel substance producible e.g. by reacting (meth)acryloyl chloride with methoxyethoxypropylamine and triethylamine in a solvent at 0-10 deg.C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the load of a water supply system and to decrease laminar film resistance by discharging exhaust gas in the vicinity of an interface between a gas separation membrane and water, and utilizing the movement of the bubbles generated at this time. CONSTITUTION:A hollow yarn-based gas separation membrane 3 is fixed in the housing 1 of the device for recovering oxygen dissolved in water by means of the upper and lower fixing layer 2 consisting of an adhesive. The exhaust gas used in combustion, respiration, etc., is discharged through a diffusion plate 5, and sent up as bubbles 10 in a passage 8 between membranes while accompanying and circulating the water from an outlet 4. The laminar film resistance on the surface of the gas separation membrane 3 is simultaneously removed, and the exhaust gas is discharged from an outlet 9 along with the water 12. Meantime, the oxygen and other gases dissolved in water is passed through the gas separation membrane 3, recovered, and discharged from a line 7. By this method, the device can be miniaturized, and energy can be saved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a specified thiophene polymer in a neutral state and an organic semiconductor in the form a film which is excellent in heat resistance and smoothness, stable in air and useful as a display material and can be obtained without molding, by doping said polymer with an anion. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I, for example, synthesized by adding a Grignard reagent obtained by, for example, reacting 2-bromothiophene with metallic Mg to 2,5-dibromothiazole and condensing the mixture together with a supporting electrolyte comprising an anion-forming substance such as tetrafluoroborate, perchlorate, hexafluorophosphate, halide, SO4 or trifluoroacetate ion is electrolytically polymerized in a polar solvent such as propylene carbonate by using gold, platinum or the like as an electrode at a controlled electric quantity in an inert atmosphere. In this way, an anion-doped thiophene of repeating units of formula II (wherein R is a group of formula III, IV or V) having an electric conductivity of 10 -10 S/cm and a desired film thickness can be obtained. If desired, this polymer is converted into a thiophene polymer in a neutral state by removing the dopant by reversing the polarity.

For example, N-ethyl (meth)acrylamide, etc., are used as the component A and acrylamide, etc., are used as the component C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable uniform and firm metal plating only on the part of a body requiring plating by applying catalytic paste consisting of palladium hydrosol contg. a surfactant and of a water soluble binder to the body and by carrying out chemical plating. CONSTITUTION:Palladium hydrosol cong. one or more kinds of surfactants selected among cationic, anionic and nonionic surfactants is mixed with a water soluble binder, stirred and cooled to prepare catalytic paste for chemical plating. This paste is applied to a body to be plated to stick palladium colloid and then the body is chemically plated with a metal such as Ni, Co, Nu or Ag. By this method, uniform and film chemical plating can be carried out only on the part requiring plating. This method is adoptable in the production of a decorative material, a heat insulating material, a magnetic tape to disk, a printed board or the like.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a metallic film having superior adhesion on plastics by chemical plating by successively treating the plastics with a surfactant and palladium hydrosol and carrying out chemical plating. CONSTITUTION:Plastics is treated in a soln. sontg. a surfactant, palladium colloid is stuck to the surface of the plastics by immersion in palladium hydrosol and then the plastics is chemically plated with a metal such as Ni, Co, Cu or Ag. One or more kinds of surfactants selected among cationic, anionic and nonionic surfactants nay be added to the palladium hydrosol as required. By this method, a metallic film having superior adhesion can be formed on the surface of the plastics by chemical plating with high reproducibility.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To separate and recover alcohol with a high permeation speed by permeating a mixed solution of water and alcohol into the composite membrane comprising polysiloxane filled in the micro pores of porous high-molecular membrane. CONSTITUTION:Liquid polydimethylsiloxane is dropped and stretched on a porous high-molecular membrane, a polypropylene porous membrane and the like, and the said polydimethylsiloxane is permeated into the micro pores of porous membrane. The surplus polydimethylsiloxane remaining on the surface of membrane is wiped out by tissue papers and the like to prepare a composite membrane filled with polydimethylsiloxane. Pervaporation is carried out by utilizing the said composite membrane and a mixed solution of water and alcohol as supplying liquid to permeate alcohol preferentially and separate.
