    Abstract: Partially crosslinked olefin polymers obtainable by reacting a) an ethylene polymer having a density of from 0.90 to 0.98 g/cm or b) a polymer comprising from 25 to 95 % by weight of a propylene homopolymer and from 5 to 75 % by weight of a propylene copolymer containing copolymerised C2-C10-alk-1-enes, where the comonomer content is from 1 to 45 % by weight, based on the total polymer, in the absence of initiators which decompose to form free radicals, with from 0.001 to 5 % by weight, based on the olefin polymers, of bismaleimido compounds of the formula (I) in which R is C1-C20-alkyl, where the alkyl radical may be interrupted by one or more oxygen atoms, C5-C7-cycloalkyl, C6-C15-aryl, where the cycloalkyl or aryl radical may in each case itself be substituted by one or more C1-C10-alkyl and/or C1-C6-alkoxy and/or C1-C4-dialkylamino groups, and a radical of the formula (II> R -Z-R (II> where R and R are each, independently of one another, C1-C10-alkyl, C5-C7-cycloalkyl or C6-C10-aryl radicals which may each themselves be substituted by one or more C1-C10-alkyl and/or C1-C6-alkoxy and/or C1-C4-dialkylamino groups, and Z is a C1-C10-alkyl group, a C1-C4-dialkylamino group, an oxygen atom or a sulphone group.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel process for the preparation of Ziegler-Natta catalyst systems containing, as active constituents, a) a titanium-containing solid component which contains titanium, magnesium, halogen and a carboxylic ester and, as cocatalyst, b) an aluminium compound and c) optionally a further electron-donor compound. The invention furthermore relates to Ziegler-Natta catalyst systems obtainable by this process, to the preparation of polymers of propylene with the aid of these catalyst systems, to polymers obtainable by this preparation method, and to films and mouldings made from these polymers.
