    Abstract: Pyrimidyl compounds of formula (I) are new. R = N(R4)NR5R6, N=NR6 or N(R6)NHR4; R1 = H, halo, alkyl or 3-8C cycloalkyl; R2, R3 = halo, CN, 1-8C alkyl, haloalkyl, 1-8C alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylthioalkyl, haloalkoxy, alkoxyalkyl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkoxycarbonylalkyl, 3-8C cycloalkyl or 3-8C halocycloalkyl; or CR2R3 = Z; Z = 4-8 membered ring which may contain one or two O, S, NH or N-alkyl (optionally with C atoms mono- or di-substituted by halo, CN, alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, 1-4C haloalkoxy, alkylthio, alkoxycarbonyl, aryl or aryloxy); R4 = H, alkyl, formyl, alkylcarbonyl or alkoxycarbonyl; R5 = H, formyl, 1-8C alkyl, 2-8C alkenyl, 2-8C alkynyl, 1-8C alkylcarbonyl, 3-7C cycloalkyl or 5-7C cycloalkenyl (all partially or fully halogenated), aryl or heteroaryl (both optionally substituted by 1-3 NO2, halo, CN, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, 1-4C alkoxyalkyl, alkylthio, alkylamino, dialkylamino, alkylsulphonyl, alkylsulphonyloxy, alkylsulphoxy, alkylcarbonyl, alkylcarbonyloxy, alkoxycarbonyl, aryl or aryloxy; R6 = 1-8C alkyl, 2-8C alkenyl or 2-8C alkynyl (all partially or fully halogenated and/or substituted by 1-3 CN, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, alkylthio or Cyc), or 3-7C cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl, (both partially or fully halogenated and optionally substituted by 1-3 CN, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, alkylthio, Cyc), Z, or aryl or heteroaryl, (both optionally substituted by 1-3 halo, CN, alkyl (optionally substituted by Ar'), 1-4C alkoxyalkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy (optionally substituted by Ar'), haloalkoxy, alkylthio, Ar', OAr', 3-7C cycloalkyl optionally substituted by 1-3 Rc), alkylamino, dialkylamino, alkylsulphonyl, alkylsulphonyloxy, haloalkylsulphonyl, alkylsulphoxy, alkylcarbonyl, alkylcarbonyloxy, alkoxycarbonyl or cyanoalkyl); Ar' = aryl or heteroaryl (both optionally substituted by 1-3 Rc); Cyc = 3-7C cycloalkyl, 5-7C cycloalkenyl, aryl, aryloxy or heteroaryl (all optionally substituted by 1-3 Rc); Rc = halo, CN, alkyl, 1-4C alkoxyalkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, alkylthio, aryl, aryloxy or heteroaryl; alkyl, alkoxy have 1-4C unless specified otherwise.
